It's certainly different.

funny how buckfast sound like breakfast
as in
the first thing i want when i wakeup after a good night out.

anyways if i wanted to do that then i would drink boones apple wine, any flavor.
or keep drinking bud lite.

That is generally what I'd go for. You'd be suprised at some of the ones in the supermarket, they really are not that bad at all.

what is an appropriate time to drink buckfast? would you have it in a pub or club, or is it strictly for after hours or early morning.

i did live in scotland for a little while but i never drank buckfast. arrols 80 though.

oh and for other wines i reckon a nice rioja is the way to go

apparently that ad copy is based on an actual conversation shouted between a tramp and whichever Gallo brother is recposible for that rot (vince i think) from his car. despicable.

Which reminds me. One of my flatmates works as a advertising creative and says that for the last two years- he has been the only person working there to actually veto the plan to use tramps as mobile billboards.
again, despicable.

i actually think this could be pretty fucking hillarious in some cases. can you imagine the possibilities...
McDonalds having thier brand associated with an unwashed mumbling street drunk.
Investment banking advertised by a strung out skaghead who's pissed himself.
why's he vetoing this again?!? this could be just that move these companies are looking for...

no never seen it, however, i'm laughing at the ad company, not the homeless person. the idea that any company would want to use tramps as advertising space is ridiculous. is someone really going to say "oh i just saw an ad for that new car on that man over there covered in vomit, no i think he's just alseep, oh, maybe he is dead, anyway, that car sure does look great."

i totally agree. but in modern creative branding and viral marketing the measure to which clients co-ops the transgressive to affect a matey relationship with their buyers is pretty sickening these days. aaargh i could go on about this for hours. and probably will at some point.

and i wasn't suggesting that anyone who laughed at the bumfights dvd should climb into the hairshirt- hell the otherday i laughed watching a documentary about the parents of a 31 year old schitzophrenic trying to procure a thai bride for him. It was quite the saddest thing i've ever seen on telly. But there's a difference between finding pathos in a horribly sad human situation and exploiting it for commercial ends
