OT, but did you or anyone read the novel, The Futurological Congress (I'm assuming that's the one they're adapting this film from)? There's so much Lem I want to read, need some recommendations. Only read The Cyberiad so far. I know there are much darker Lem stories (e.g. Solaris).

Only read Cyberiad, Solaris, Chain of Chance.... all brilliant. Solaris is totally gripping. Chain of Chance reads like Borges.

"Yeah and that is my opinion, but I'm not saying it's my opinion"

"Righto."

It's amusing me how wilfully you're putting your own agenda on what I'm actually saying.

Can you please tell me where I clearly demonstrate an opinion in the following:

It is pretty mental how much the area has changed in such a short time.

I've managed to find a quote from here: http://suite101.com/article/movie-re...-bashir-a69295

But one thing I do wonder (again, without taking sides), where did all the people who used to live in those massive Palestinian areas go?

Watch it, it's hard going, but very very good. (Although it is specifically about the 1982 Lebanese conflict, rather than the current Palestinian one)

think there might be a hint of an opinion in this one, but it's quite late on, and only after quite a few attacks towards me

I specifically didn't make reference to the war and territory issues. I was looking at it simply from the point that the borders have changed so much in so little time, it's a bit mental. I know some Arabs are now Israeli citizens, and some have gone to Egypt/Lebenon/etc, but that's still a huge country that has been so dramatically changed, I thought it was interesting.

I'm deliberately not making any passing of judgement on the reasons for the change (although, obviously, I do hold that judgement myself) and I think you're painting what you think I'm saying onto it, when I'm deliberately not saying those things.

But decadnids is right, we should have invoked Godwin's Law on that third post.

But I actually think I've spent most of the time trying NOT to show my opinion.

Tbh only Solaris, which is a great and fast read. He wrote so much stuff, I didn't check out, but need to.
