you do hear a lot of triplets running counter-rhythmically in trap/southern hip-hop, and yeah, i'd say those bastards were swinging, but it's more the swing of your dirty, low, downtempo boogie than your funky

i'm not a drummer, but i am a drum programmer, which is very much the same, only slower

Er.. you're a moron if you want to debate what exactly 'swing' is in terms of rhythm. It's not debatable, whether you're a drummer or not. It's specifically descriptive.

No offense and all that. But I'd be embarrassed if I didn't know what it was and I claimed to be someone who knew about music. It'd be like working in tv and not knowing what an offline editor was.
