Yorkies playlist

was reading about some iTunes thing Thom Yorke did and was surprised to
read this:

[Surgeon] "Scorn" (Track 5): "this is like the storms that await us in our future. i found Surgeon after OK Computer, it is the true sound of post-rave darkness. this is an early one from my favorite bits of vinyl, Basictonalvocabulary."

what!!
Yorke is down with Anthony Child?

surgeon just remixed yorke's : the clock also - one of the best techno offerings of last year in fact IMO.

he cites quite a lot of that sound as being an influence seemingly along with warp etc, I-tunes thingeee he done looks interesting.

from the Radiohead blog:

Quote:
First there is Surgeon's Rmx of The Clock.
This was the one that made me think, we got to start getting these out.
I was chuffed he wanted to do it as think he is a MASTER.
He has turned it into something really hard. And disco.
Well what i call disco anyhow.
It made me very proud.

I hope it gets played in a club somewhere.
Not that i get out much nowadays.

the only time i've seen surgeon was at Glade and it was as loud as a 3D superwoofer. ranks as the most disappointing act i've ever seen

I've got it here but I can't use YouSendit or MegaUpload at work. I'll upload it when I get home if I remember.

These remixes were only available as a free download on the XL site for a limited time iirc, never been commercially available.
