G4 Cube Passive Cool System

Clogs for your G4 Cube - only in Germany, surely...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...gename=rvi:1:2

Reminds me of my childhood, walking around all those toyshops full of wooden toys (and Play Mobil)...

wow, they actually didn't look horrible till i saw them in proportion to cube, if they were bigger then it might not look so odd, and really, why add wooden feet to sure a futuristic looking machine. make them out of graphite or aluminium.

cubes are still around mate, they are actually very collectable.
i mean, you could get a 500mghz G4 in a cube, and for loads of designers that plenty of power.

I've been thinking of getting a Cube, cos there just so nice and I want one...

I been looking at:
www.sonnettech.com - there's loads of stuff you can get for old Macs.

been trying to decide whether to get a G3 or G4 processor for my B&W - could just get a superfast G3 from Powerlogix and ditch the Altivec...

Prolly won't, but hey if I see one for the right price, they are really nice...

I've heard you have to watch it on the upgrades though - cos the heat eventually destroys the logic boards. There's been quite a few Cube logic board failures - hence silly cooling blocks.

I think powerlogix makes a bigger case...

Not that I've looked into it much or anything....

gravis is selling cubes with upgrade cards i think
...(maybe it's easier to upgrade a cube with a g5 card than other macs), but whatever you say a cube is very stylish....

what was this cooling system about? i cannot see the pictures!!! just a joke?

It was a set of four of finely crafted wooden blocks, wittled by Germany's finest craftspersons - like little feet with a groove that fitted the bottom of the cube's plastic enclosure, thus raising it off the floor and increasing flow of air to its vitals...

Available in multiple wood finishes...
