musicians wanted
Hello people, can any one help? I moved to Brighton about 7 months ago. I work as a cartoonist/animator, but I'm desperate to start playing live music again. I've been playing/writing music for about 12 years from monotonous noise to melodic cheesy punk pop shit. Been doing too much recording over the last few years and need to see the sun again.
Influences...the fall, ween, rapeman, wedding present, king missile, the cramps, velvets, doris day, JSBE, new vaudiville band, the amps, butthole surfers, electro pop, etc etc etc.. I play guitar, sing and program, looking to team up with a bin lid crashing drummer and anyone else that is interested. Am I in the wrong place? cheers! |

hi tinyflea!!
welcome to brighton. i will alert vermicious knid to your presence as he knows a lot more bands than me...i like all the bands you list as influences but we have more connections with electronic music types in brighton here obviously. there are loads of bands in brighton though - i presume you've been to the guitar and amp centre and looked at the musicians wanted bit in there? |

Hello Emma
I've no idea where you mean by the guitar and amp center, can you expand??...I still do a lot of programming and stuff with my music, but it's time for real drums, and something more to bounce off other than bedroom walls.
I'm also a 32 year old has been with 2 young kids bleeding all the life out of me. Anyway, cheers for your help. ![]() |

have you tried sedating the kids? a nice stout stick and a good swing does the trick in keepin them away from me.

guitar and amp centre is in the north laines
its on north road, at the end of gardner st just before you get into kensington gardens you cant miss it. its the main music equipment shop in brighton id say. there's a musicians wanted board in there... there might be one in borderline records too, on gardner st, next door to the komedia. its an historic brighton record shop, been here for at least 20 years also try edgeworld (my favouriite record shop - full of excellent weird music but very small) which is above a comic shop called HIVE on kensington gardens look out for gigs at the freebutt, lots of bands play there...check out the friday ad free paper, might have notices in there... also maybe worth going to detournement (krautrock / indie) night where can we see your cartooning / animating? |

Dr P.C.Talking is at: www.pervyempire.com byeee |
