The show is great...but I think netflix has it all
cut up weird...so I watched season 2 but it didn't
make much sense and now I'm watching 2.5 ??
and it makes more sense...I think maybe they messed
up when the put the DVD out initially and they
are covering it up by saying it's season 2.5??
or was there really a season 2.5??

really? I thought it was one of the best season-openings i've ever seen. pretty good allegory on some current ongoing stuff in the reality and all well written. they will be 'back in place' soon anyway.
anyway, we shouldn't spoil the others..

I thought Firefly pissed on BSG. It's more of a "western that happens to involve a spaceship". It's much better written than BSG.. much less hamfisted.

I liked the first season of BSG, the pilot was great.. but there's only so much "celtic panpipes in space" I can handle. And all the characters are 2-dimensional.. and the pseudo religious bit and really unsubtle "war on terror" analogies are beyond wank. I stopped watching it some time in season 2 (I think) when they cured that annoying president bint who I was hoping was going to die.

I've heard it got really good again at the end of Season2.. but I couldn't be arsed to sit through several hours of teenage angst in space (with tits) to get to it. Oh, and it's got NO sense of humour whatsoever. It's all po-faced.. so the EXACT moment that you find ANY of it even faintly ridiculous, they've lost you forever. Me n the missus found ourselves giggling every time they started banging on their bodhran (every event is preceeded by a drum solo). Badly needs to stop taking itself so seriously.

Yeah, Firefly shat on it. BSG definitely copied the silence and wobbly cameras in space from Firefly. If you like the first few seasons of Buffy, you'll like Firefly.

Wow. Surprised myself by having quite a lot of opinion about it all.

firefly ain't bad but it's a bit cheesy at times. only 14 episodes on that iirc.

battlestar galactica on the other hand is in my eyes by far the best sci-fi ever broadcasted. it bulldozers over every other show. there's no scifishow out there you could compare this to.
download the miniseries aka the first 4 episodes of the first season. if you like that, your up for a joyride for 2 really good seasons. and the third looks good as well imo

yeah, it's watchable. westernspaceopera. but it's nothing compared to galactica.
galactica is sci-fi as I always wanted it to be.
