who's competent then, in your opinion, to discuss war? i think it's not surprising that people from all over the world talk here about some topic that is affecting them all. why is this "making you sick" (see other thread)?

the only positive thing of war is the sound!

because everywhere i look, conflict is the only thing people wish to discuss. how many times must we come to the same conclusions?

1. killing is never just
2. more communication and tolerance are the keys to a positive solution
3. oppression is real in every country


etc. at nauseum...


shouldn't we all get back to living our lives?
i understand this is an issue about which most are passionate, but why let it infest the board?


i suppose i am just venting, but is just too much! i come here to talk about art, music, recreation etc. NOT TO HAVE TO BE REMINDED of the sad state of my country/the world etc. every time i.P. or someone finds an article they believe "spreads awareness" of their "cause".

if you want to protest, GO OUT AND DEMONSTATE... but don't come to a place like this and contaminate it with the buzz of war.

You don't HAVE to participate in these threads do you?

If people want to discuss these subjects, because they feel passionate about them - and rightly so in my opinion - why not let them?

If you really want to seclude yourself from the buzz of war, just leave those threads unread. Simple huh?

And btw: I don't think art can exist in a vacuum, true art is always aware of what's happening outside.

now you are just being silly and dramatic, of course art and life are intertwined, i am not saying to take a fucking pill and spread the love and unity or whatever, but do we have to bring the most vile elements of this era into a place of inspiration?

I'm not that keen on war meself like, proper gets on my tits. And that's about as deep and meaningful as I'm gonna get for a Monday morning.

What annoys me at the moment is where does everyone get all their funny pics and downloads from ? I surf the net quite regulary and wouldn't have a scooby as to where to find all the smart games and downloads and funny stuff.

All I ever seem to go on is bloody music websites..

I agree with you gunjack about your reasons for coming to this board, because they are the same reasons I come here. and I feel the same emotions you feel regarding our country and the world. but I think this board was created with the intentions for people to talk about all kinds of things, including politics. I think that it is good for us to be able to come here and vent whatever emotions and concerns we have regarding a very real scenario. and like what was stated before, the best way to get away from it is to avoid those threads and go the threads you want to read. that is what I have always done if I wasn't in a political mood.
