80's mixes

Does anyone know where I can get some 80's dj mixes? I'm on the lookout for my friend, but don't really know where to look.

Thanks

Chris isn't that fussy, probably not a lot of cheesy stuff, mainly electro and poppy stuff along the lines of Duran Duran, Soft Cell, etc, etc

Why have I just sat through this entire mix and enjoyed it ?................despite the fact that I am certain I hated all but about 3 of the songs on there when they were actually released.
Misty-eyed retrospective and sentimentality, I suppose.

Here's a good 80's disco one:

http://www.mixoftheweek.com/mixes/motw232.html

It starts out with 3 of my all time favourites!

DJ Yoda's How To Cut & Paste the 80's is good for novelty value but you'll get bored really fast.

this looks good, but two questions.

1. why have the cardigans on there? they are a 90s band. WRONG

2. please, no 'money for nothing'. dire straits did so many more better tunes.

I thought exactly that about the Cardigans. It seemed really out of place in the mix.

And NO Dire Straits. Ever. Not in any circumstances. Never, ever. No, it's wrong. Just plain wrong. I won't have it.

Various US hipster / leftfield scratch DJs have done 80s pop mixes. I remember seeing some mate of Kid Koala's from Montreal do a very impressive one warming up for KK a year or two back... there's a particularly famous one that was released a couple of years ago too, but fucked if I can remember who it was by... DJ Rectangle keeps popping into my head, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't him... some turntablist of note, anyway... Diplo came to fame via his Hollertronix parties where his main schtick was mixing crunk with 80s electropop, and Radioclit are mining that scene for all its worth now...

If it's 80s soul you're after, check out the new mix by Chromeo on Eskimo recs...

Quote:
1. Elektrik Funk – On A Journey (I Sing The Funk Electric)

2. Sharon Redd – Beat The Street

3. Chemise – She Can’t Love You

4. Michael Jonzun – Burnin Up

5. Jellybean – Who Found Who

6. Modern Romance – Burn It

7. David Grant – Stop And Go

8. Love Club – Hot Summer Nights

9. The Jets – Rocket 2 You

10. Kleeer – You Got Me Rockin’

11. Herbie Hancock – Tell Everybody

12. Daddy Dewdrop – Nanu Nanu (I Wanna Funk With You)

13. Temper – No Favors (*)

14. Total Contrast – Takes A Little Time

15. Robert Palmer – You Are In My System

16. Calloway – I Wanna Be Rich

17. Warp 9 – No Man Is An Island
