"The server is too busy at the moment"

Don't you just hate it, especially when you just spent 10 mins writing a PM or a post and you lose it due to this "Server too busy" message.. sucks... like the server is too busy with like 10 users logged on.. what gives?

I know you're all itching to answer to this thread but can't, because the server is too busy, so please try again later, but remember you can go to the online shop....

just click the 'back' button, and so long as you're not still using Netscape 4, it should still contain your long message, so you can save it and try again

check this thread mark

its been quite irritating for us that we have had to spend a lot of money because we have increased bandwith

as you can see we plan to move servers but dont have time at the moment.

so sorry it is inconveniencing you, the message about going to the online shop is so that people can still do that, and incidentally buy one of your records.

Can't you set up paypal donate or modify the shop to accept donations towards bandwidth?

Well I know you could - it'd be very very simple, but would you consider doing this?

If you spend ages making a post rather than a quick comment then it's handy to dtrl + a, ctrl + c to copy it into the clipboard as a 'just in case' measure. Then you just have to remember not to run off and copy something else into the buffer whilst you wait as I've done a few times.

I second this, I've thought about buying more RRR/Mosquitos but can't face the thought of having 10 copies of M_H's Holiday in the Sun EP.

But I would pay a voluntary fee on a monthly basis. You can think of some members privs if you like, - but I don't care if there aren't any...

thanks for the suggestion, it is appreciated. but we wont need to do that if we just move the server somewhere decent and cheap

decadnids has suggested a good place

the thing is that cristian will need to sort out the move, and he has been in a theatre in lausanne on and off since the beginning of december composing music. so he hasnt been able to do anything. he SHOULD have a bit of time in march. so hopefully we will get this sorted once and for all soon.

I guess if Cris and Emma took donations it might start to blur the edges of who 'owns' erutufon a little, which is not neccesarily a good thing.

I appreciate that completely emma, this is not a dig at you guys, more just an exclamation of frustration, I suppose because I only look here a couple of times every few days it's annoying if I have limited time to look and I can't.. maybe there wouldn't be so much of a bandwith problem if people didn't feel the need to post ridiculously pointless threads, telling us how they got farted on whilst having sex.. yes, very amusing for 15 seconds, but it seems a waste to be paying for bandwith and it gets chewed up with things like that, when some of us who don't have internet connections who just want to find out about a release or a party, but can't because the bandwith is being chewed with people typing utter crap.. sorry for the rant, but I have found it a real pain when I have 10 mins online, can't get on here due to the fact someone wanted to post their REALLY hilariou ly obscene joke..

Well Mark I guess if you don't visit that regularly then you don't use the board like the majority of people who post.

Well, maybe you'd be so kind as to pay the bandwidth bill if you love talking out of your arse so much.. or maybe start your own message board for talking shit on, I mean I always understood this to be a music message board...
anyway, I'm leaving it at that, I don't have the time, and can't be bothered with getting into pathetic internet arguments...

yes im not that keen really, because we use this space to promote our work. id rather people bought our records if they want to support us. and many of you do, so thank you!

also, im not sure how much it would raise - i know little detroit set up a donation thing a while ago, and i think only a few of the hardcore bothered.

Not at all... People pay to be members of football clubs, doesn't make them shareholders...

I'd still be up for paying and supporting my fave on-line community.

In fact for that matter, there's loads of examples of people paying to be part of an on-line community. The internet isn't the free lunch everyone thought it was going to be.

Lastly I'd love to support no-future by buying the records, but I have them all*. In future I will endevour to buy them direct as I know you will get more money that way...

Make it mandatory - you'll soon see the bandwidth slump

*except that big pile of classic mosquitos that you are sitting on for your retirement fund (come on lets have em - OK, I'll settle for just a MSQ16 and maybe a 003 or how about at 12.5

why do some members have such a massive fucking chip on their shoulder about this forum?

"boo hoo, this forum's only for talking music, sniffle. stop posting your idiotic threads. they only serve to upset my grey matter. you're all just so childish. boo hoo."

do jokes have to have some fuckwitt beardstroking subject matter to be funny? no, they don't. does every thread or reply i or any other member post have to be about music or, if not about music (heaven forbid), some other deadly serious subject, like, erm, politics? yeah, that'd be fucking great, i'll just sit here all day arguing about politics over the fuckin internet. yay, woohoo.
well, what about the people who like reading the odd daft thread? whats wrong with reading a stupid joke if it puts a smile on yer kisser? do we have to go and find another less 'serious' forum?
i'm not ranting about anyone in particular here, but there are a few members who seem to be taking everything just that little bitty too seriously. cheer up.
