This one's free entry for everyone, all night.. To celebrate mine and Loz's birthdays.
Lets be clear about what's going on here..
We've got a nice, small venue with a loud soundsystem. All our mates and mates of mates of mates come so its really an ultra friendly night - and the crowd are noisy and are here to HAVE IT to proper techno music.. You know.. Stuff with guts, with originality and killer riffs and banging wonkular beats. Filled with funk and not that boring white noise shit that passes for techno these days.
So if you wanna be part of our fun bi-monthly night, and help keep the real techno alive, just come along and be sure you'll feel welcomed !!

For this one we welcome the debut London set (they did it once before but the soundsystem couldn't handle it) of Bebop & Rocksteady aka Luke's Anger & Ben Pest .. Expect top drawer analogue squiggling with fat fat basslines and buxom beats!! Seriously not to be missed!!

Also a rare live acid set from No Data Available which he's constructing especially for the night (maybe even right now!!)

Don't honcho Jerome Hill will be spinning a special birthday set so expect the unexpected for that one..

Also after his last appearance in 2012, we welcome back Mr. P-Hocto to smash things up again for the closing set ..

Please tell your friends and share this event and lets ram it out again :)

On the show this week we welcome .at/on (http://14circles.org/), the work of Anton Holota, an experimental musician from Ukraine.

Whilst studying physics at University he began recording music, his first work saw release in 2004. From there he began to develop a live set for performance, which he debuted in 2006. He has since gone to perform at Les Urbaines, DetaliZvuku, NetAudio Berlin 2009, Kvitnu, and MusCut.

He’s a prolific recording artist, with his work appearing on many different labels and compilations. One of those compilations featuring his work was nominated for the 3rd Qwartz Electronic Music Awards. He has a techno/dub side project, COTF but it’s his experimental electronica that is what drew me to invite him onto the show.

Two of my favourite releases from him, both quite abstract in approach and sound are his 2010 release Pack – a collaborative work with Eugen Vashchenko’s v4w.enko project released on Entity; and his 2008 release on Hungarian netlabel Complementary Distribution: Products Of Passed Days.

Since his University education he has studied applied acoustics which led to work as an Acoustics Engineer in Sweden.

---Quote---
I created popular Max for Live plugins pack for Ableton Live and people can download it for free here http://14circles.org/tool/

I know that there are a lot of producers listening to your show, so maybe it will be useful for someone.
---End Quote---

His session for Mantis Radio tonight takes in a selection of his own work and personal favourites together with that of unreleased work from his friends, including Darkfloor favourites Sturqen.

*SOMATIC RESPONSES*
our most popular session (http://darkfloor.co.uk/mantis-radio-116-somatic-responses/)

It’s that time of year again – our Anniversary Special.

As we enter our 7th year of broadcasting Mantis Radio I take a retrospective look over the past year, re-playing some of my favourite tracks. Bearing in mind I played some 473 tracks across 23 shows, I’ve some task in getting that down to an hours worth.

I’ll also be playing a 20 minute edit from our 3 most popular showcase sessions over the past year, as is the tradition with these anniversary shows.

Over the weekend I looked at all the stats, taking into account downloads from the podcast, Mixcloud listens, url hits and archive visits to determine the most popular shows from the last 12 months.

For those of you interested we had close to 300k hits on those shows and our most popular show turned in nearly 45k hits. Which is huge. I’m stunned and so proud the show has reached such a big audience.

A huge thank you to all the showcased guests and labels – Rory St John, Dimentia, Boris Noiz, Villain, Robert Pain, Phat Chex, Aural Sects, Simplicity is Beauty, Somatic Responses (ambient), Scape One, Ekman, Makaton, Ingen, Borealis, Somatic Responses (hard), VNDL, Dexterous Numerics, Baeks, Ontal, Drugstore, Kawatin, Dead TV Society and most recently Nonima.
