pro-tools / ADAT help

Hey - any pro-tools users that can help ?

I have been working in a studio with the following :

Tascam DM 244 desk, G4 running pro-tools and a Digidesign ADAT 24.

There's more kit, but I'm focusing on that cos I'm having a problem with it.

Got a Rode Nt1 running into a breakout box then patched into the desk,

It works fine with phantom power - nice clean signal etc.

I normally record by then routing that channel into pro-tools without any fuss.

but the other day - when I fired up the system, it didn't recognise the ADAT, after reselecting it

I tried to record and I get a mad clicking and the desk is going live.

When I re:rout the signal back into the stereo mix on the desk and switch off the sub-routing, it's fine, but anytime I route the signal it goes bad, the signal I'm getting off it nearly fried one of the monitors and gave me a bit of a jolt, the desk is basically going live whenever I sub-route this signal into pro-tools.

Pretty sure I need to talk to digi-design about the ADAT, but wondering if there's anything else I should check - done all the cabling and everything is secure, but it's a really weird problem I'm wondering if it could be an issue with the desk itself when relating to sub-routing a signal that's been using phantom power as opposed to the ADAT mebbes.

Not hugely experienced with pro-tools so any pointers would be helpful.

My debit card (HSBC) has been cloned for the second time.. last was 2 or 3 years ago i think.

Last time someone bought a load of small shit like mobile top-ups and a national express coach ticket from Glasgow to London... then a Dell laptop for �600. I got all my money back.

This time they tried mobile top-ups again, a cinema ticket and then a �600 bed or something. Should get the cash back again.. waiting to find out for sure.

The lack of imagination appalls me. Mobile top-ups?? I'd be eating at posh restaurants and going on antartic ballooning holidays. I think the thing that upset me most is the idea that there are people in the world so astonishingly, painfully, arse-meltingly retarded that, when they've got a stolen card number, will book themselves a ten hour journey on a coach that smells of farts and vomit instead of a five hour journey sat in a 1st class train carriage. Massive bumberginas.
