not for ralph nader ? well, in fact in was HIS voters' fault (and the one of your strange vote counting style lol) that gwb came into power...

well you see it really didn't have that much to do with nader. yes nader did draw some votes from gore and those made a difference in the swing states where bush and gore were close. but really where the election was lost was in florida. the thing with florida is that it really didn't have much to do with the whole "butterfly ballot". what a lot of people don't know is that the governor of florida jeb bush (George's brother) he allowed katherine harris florida's attorney general to basically bring into law that all residents of florida who had been convicted of a felony were NOT allowed to vote. of course the main offenders in our country are black and hispanic people, people who vote democrat 95% of the time. now the thing is they didn't just flag people with felony records, but they flagged people who's names were even remotely similar. so if joe black committed a felony, and your name is joe slack, you would get flagged. it happened to the head of the democratic party election committe for florida. her name was close to someone else who had murdered someone and she got flagged and was not allowed to vote. this was done because the republicans knew gore would win florida, which he did anyways.
but of course that can't be confirmed since the supreme court of the usa demanded all vote recounts cease. the reason that was done was because of sandra day oconner and some other senior judges who were appointed to the supreme court by republicans who want to retire under a republican rule. watch, in the next couple of years there will be about 3 retirements from the supreme court and bush will make the next selections and of course he will pick people who want to take a womens right to choose, and who aren't for civil rights, and who don't think the greenhouse effect exists, etc...
I voted for gore (not like it matters) which what I didn't realise is that my vote didn't mean shit. I was living in a republican state at the time; bush was goning to win my state no doubt. in the future though I will certainly vote for a third party candidate. I am tired of the "lesser of two evils" when in fact the only difference between a republican and a democrat is that a republican will at least tell you that he is going to fuck you.

his new film is bolder than ever. called "Bowling for Columbine," the title is derived from the fact that the boys that murdered all those people at CHS went to bowling class that morning because they loved it so much. bowl a few before they roll a few i guess. he showed a preview of it on his tour. i had the good fortune to see him speak and meet him. he is an incredible orator and all-around rabble rouser.
read the book and go to www.michaelmoore.com

i should add that he is definitely not laughing at the dead. he explained that after the incident, the town and the media tried to paint a picture of Columbine as "anywhere USA". He has a decidedly different take on the matter. Rather than try to explain calling on my vague recollection I'll let people see for themselves. It's a gem. That's all I'll say.

Mike Moore's book on the whole is good, but he does have some very immature and ill-informed opinions on the whole Northern Ireland situation. That kind of thing really pisses me off a lot.
I think his problem is that he does his research, sure, but with two conflicting pieces of evidence, he'll go for the one he agrees with, discounting the other completely.
Another thing that showed this up was when he made a fuss that during the grounding of planes after September 11th last year, he claimed that Bin Laden family members were flown from the country on planes laid on by the Federal American Government, 2 days or so after the WTC attack, and were not interrogated or even questioned by the FBI, and the whole flight was secret. Which has been proven to simply not be true. He even cites an article in the New York Times, which has within it references to evidence that totally contradicts what he's saying. The article says that they were first told by the FBI that really it might not be advisable to stay in a country where they were likely to be persecuted by viligantes looking for scapegoats. The planes they were set to fly out on were grounded along with all the other non-military aircraft, and were not allowed to leave until their had been passports checked. All this was done under FBI supervision, and was all paid for by the Saudi government and by the Bin Laden family.
Sorry, went off a bit on one there..

these are the sorts of the things that he should be called on. there are mosdef inconsistencies in many things that he says. when i asked him where nader was when the presidency was being stolen by the bush cartel, he said that he was in florida but that the media wasn't paying him any attention. this seems awful fishy to me and i was given no further explanation. his website was never updated during this time. it was like he just disappeared. hmmmmm.

This was in a email newsletter last week:
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, priest and theologian (perhaps the most
important theologian of the last century), was hanged by the
SS in April of 1945. His last writings are collected in the
extraordinary book 'Letters And Papers From Prison' - which
is often to be found knocking around in secondhand
bookshops, and is certainly worth the 75 pence. There is a
section of the book, near the beginning, entitled 'Of
Folly', and in it Pastor Bonhoeffer sheds some much needed
light on the war with Iraq, and the character of a certain
President Bush.
'There is no defence against folly. Neither protests nor
force are of any avail against it, and it is never amenable
to reason. If facts contradict personal prejudices, there
is no need to believe them, and if they are undeniable, they
can simply be pushed aside as exceptions. Thus the fool, as
compared with the scoundrel, is invariably self-complacent.
And he can easily become dangerous...'
'The fool can often be stubborn, but this must not mislead
us into thinking that he is independent. One feels somehow,
especially in conversation with him, that it is impossible
to talk to the man himself, to talk to him personally.
Instead, one is confronted with a series of slogans,
watchwords, and the like, which have acquired power over
him. He is under a curse, he is blinded, his very humanity
is being prostituted and exploited. Once he has surrendered
his will and become a mere tool, there are no lengths of
evil to which the fool will not go, yet all the time he is
unable to see that it is evil.'
...
God bless the President of the United States. And God save
us all.
