anyone see this ali g spin off? so funny, as the austrian fashion character asking an anti gay pastor whether watching will and grace and being 'fabulous' was acceptable. hahaha

not gay , he says he has many wives
but there are many smithers like references:
aside from kissing blokes , commenting on their lovely big 'tasches and asking to see their big bollocks

no, i dont think its a reference to his gayness. thats a comment on the position of women in kazakhstan and other muslim countries i reckon. he stated the other day that women are lower than horses in the pecking order in his home country. men and masculinity are priviliged. it sometimes spills over to homosexuality but its because women occupy such a weird space in the extremes of that culture.
best example from the last series was when he went to henley for the boat race and went along a line of male rowers, kissing every one and then shook the female cox by the hand.

ok again not gay
they just throw in the smithersy references
"you have big bollocks ?"
"can i see?"
etc...

I think the photos of "his sister" bit on fridays show proves borat likes the ladies, or he just has a very close family.

He has two degrees from Cambridge, so found it highly amusing when he went back to Cambridge in his Borat disguise and ripped the piss out of all the very posh and stuck up people. The American student was the funniest - that and making a point of kissing every single member of the well-buffed Cambridge rowing team, except their female coxswain...

...german tv fakes it, but sooo horribly bad, uuah.
aleks
18th August 2004, 16:48
nah, they don´t dub it...well, they didn´t the last time i saw it. would be a shame if they did.
mandal
18th August 2004, 16:56
no i mean they fake it. same as trigger tv...german private tv makes no experiments, maybe because there just idiots working and they know that they have no qualities. the station buys the rights for germany and than everything gets remaked, to pretend authenticity. but it's a shame to watch those shows. the only show i'm not sure if the idea is "stolen" too is tv-total.

no, i saw ali g. in australia and in england and it is the same as in germany...
jukka
18th August 2004, 17:23
why should it be another show ?
i doubt they produce different shows due to the production costs (of course).would be stupid if they produce different shows for different countries.

21st August 2004, 15:24
no. u got me wrong. the ali g. show is the same in germany. but there are other shows using a studio looking the same, guys interviewing people the same way,...it's just a bad copy of ali g. called headnut tv.
