ooops, thanks lucid for correcting me.
as far as I know there are only 2 mills releases in conection to metropolis.
what the article was reffering to was a date that mills played in london a while back where he was actually showing the film edited down to I guess about 90 minutes and all of his songs accompanied the movie. I have tried to watch metropolis while listening to mills' work and it is really cool, but I would rather see the shorter version since he only did songs for certain sections of the movie so if you watch it straight out some tracks get played when they arent supposed too.

This sort of reminds me, has anyone ever done that thing where you watch The Wizard of Oz, while listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
Start playing the album on the third roar of the MGM Lion and there's some spooky moments where the audio correlates with what is going on in the movie, more moments than for it to be a complete coincidence... Including a rather spooky bit where the films goes into Colour...
Just wonderin' if anyone else has heard of this, my American housemate told me about it, although he insisted that we listen to the album again and watch the last half of the film and it didn't work at all, and everyone in the room insisted that we watch the rest of the film with the normal audio from the movie.

Apparently if you play two copies of Radiohead's Kid A together, 16 seconds apart, it spookily matches, too.
It would be nice to think that they made all the recordings so 16 seconds apart it was a nice harmony, but I doubt anyone could really be arsed.

I tried the wizard/floyd thing once. it worked for about 15 minutes but then the things that were supposed to match were close but off.

yeah, there is this really good art exhibit at the Tate Liverpool called Remix featuring artists who sample popular culture in a similar way as DJs and electronic music does. they have a piece that shows Oz with headphones playing the Dark Side of the Moon...quite entertaining.
If anyone is in the area, i highly recommend going to this exhibition. i only had about an hour to spend there, but could have stayed all day.
I think my favorite piece was this video art that traced dance music from disco to the present (no narrative, just images and music).Other entertaining pieces were one showing people competing on those video-game-dancing machines and a room where you could chose from around 50+ music videos to screen.
Has anyone else been to this exhibition. What did ya think?
