I've been worrying about this for a while , cos its a real curiosity to me that in my 9 years on the road , I've never played as a DJ in Amsterdam - but maybe I did???? - but got too stoned to recall it??? - I DID play at a Novamute party in Rotterdam , on the 18th Jan 2002 - In Feb I played , Athens , Barcelona , Kassel , Frankfurt and Munich - so i guess thats that - but , Mux , its reasonable that I could have played some of Dungeon Master , cos I was dropping the tracks for almost a year off of CDR ...

So , the set may well be me , but the location is wrong - it could be the Jan set at Rotterdam , at a place called Night Town - it was a novamute night - and I was stoned off half a joint and feelin the fear all the way through the set , so i remember it being a bit crap actually .. anyway , it doesn't really matter ...

MUX
8th August 2002, 12:14
that actually came to mind...

something similar to what were on about, happened to me with 'mssgs-a-comin' i was certain i had heard the track when hearing it.. and new all the bridges & melodies felt natural and i knew exactly what was going to happen next... wierd.. or maybe possible?

MUX - the mp3 was on this site ages ago under a different title.

oh shit ! hehehehe really? was it that hotdog mp3? if so i remember once seeing a statisic from my audio galaxy report and noticed that like.... when landing in the useful 'my music' folder on windows... everyone was downloading it from me whenever i was online...

It was an early mix and was called Raw Digits.

You're thinking of Angry Sausage Dog, which was a Cristian solo track I think.

@Mux.

Have you ever been on DJ Rush's message board? That poor bloke gets new postings from a million different people asking for the setlist of his 'I Love Techno' mix, or 'Live In Berlin mix, or 'Live in Old Skool's Kitchen mix'.....

I can sort of understand why people like to know what the tracks are cos it pisses me off when I hear summat good and I don't know who made it... but things can get taken a little too far. I sort of stopped downloading mixes because of that fact, plus I got really weird with it and started downloading about 10 a week and not even listening to them.

MUX
8th August 2002, 16:02
yeah actually i take a look at here a bit.. with Rush being a very good friend of ours.. and i kinda understand the tracklist problemos that come up... but to me it only happns witht techno mixes.. i am very happy listening to a tape that someone left in the car without knowing who the artist is.. it makes the listen more alert and u dont judge the book by it's cover

ps. i got some good fuckin dj rush stories from when we met... but he wouldnt be happy if i made them public.. do u know him?

old skool
8th August 2002, 16:20
Me know DJ Rush ?.. nah. Just put on a few stupid posts on his message board a few times. I've seen him play quite a few times here in the UK and quite enjoyed it, albeit his DJ sets can be on 'one level' a bit too much for an old gimmer like me. He plays quite hard, well very fucking hard ....

I think I prefered him when he was playing more of that jackin' Chicago style stuff he used to play. I went to a club called Sankey's in Manchester on my 21st in 1996 and he tore the roof off....

Whooaa hang on Mux, I wasn't meaning to come across dodgily there mate, it was just for some unknown reason we were talking about him in the pub t'other week and someone just mentioned that they read an article about him ages ago and that they'd chatted to him after playing in a club ... it was just a question that's all dude ...

old skool
8th August 2002, 16:39
I've just edited that previous post too, the question came across a 'little incorrect' .... :-)

MUX
8th August 2002, 16:39
nah dont worry.. i didnt take it like that either, it was just soemthing that wouldnt make a decent posting in my opinion, espcially with him being a friends in my case...

and damn does he play hard or what ?

lemme tell ya this, he once explained to me the really old chicago scene and he said that he used to dress up as a chick.. so that the wouldnt ask him for id... cause he was only 14 when the great warehouse parties were held...

old skool
8th August 2002, 16:43
Yep you're right Mux ... stupid question to ask on a post really.

And yep, I think the fact he stood out in my mind I'm sure (apart from his DJ'ing) was the fact that whilst he was dj'ing he was wearing a green wig and these mad platform type boots. And christ knows how he fitted in there cos he's about 6 foot 4 or summat !!

Definitely beats looking at a moody miserable techno dj as they normally are !!

bias, you came here and you had balls to ask Cristian (well maybe not directly) such a lame question. Why don't you ask him if he can send you some mp3s. It would be easier, you don't have to look for it or even BUY it. Have you ever bought Cristians record? Or maybe you have "all" of his releases as mp3s?? Like your last post in polish usenet - "Could someone record for me Dungeon Master as mp3" CMON!!!! It's FU*KIN LAME!!!!! If you like it so much why don't you go and BUY it?????????????? FU*K

People stopped buying originals instead of illegal mp3 trading! if you want listen to the record you should move your ass, go to the shop and buy it or buy legal mp3! If you don't run label or you arent musician I think you can't imagine how legal cd's sales are bad these days!

Wowzers - what an explosive thread - Polish Pirate Ousted !! - DJ demands truth from memory!!

so WAS i in Amsterdam that weekend or not???

whilst you lot have been debating the pros and cons of politically correct jacking , I've been having to nonchalantly ask people whether they can remember if I went to Amsterdam sometime in February...

anyway , what is the URL of Rush's message board?

here is an article from janis ian about p2p, the music industrie, riaa and more.

janis ian´s article (http://www.janisian.com/article-internet_debacle.html)

"Face it - most people can't afford to spend $15.99 to experiment. That's why listening booths (which labels fought against, too) are such a success. "

"The only reason they didn't react that way publicly to the advent of CDs was because they believed CD's were uncopyable. I was told this personally by a former head of Sony marketing, when they asked me to license Between the Lines in CD format at a reduced royalty rate. ("Because it's a brand new technology.")"

i personally don´t agree with her 100% but she´s closer to the truth
than any RIAA-propaganda...

you are great investigator. Not everyone is a vinyl junkie, but probably i will BUY dungeon master (russian pressing ;) and i want to say that i've got ORIGINAL RAW DIGITS and original TAPE absolute time... and I also have lots of other ORIGINAL music. and for me mp3s are something like samples because when the music is very good i'm buying original, but i can't afford to buy every record i like even a little..... sory for my english mayby someone can undestand it

well, in this case i can be wrong, but i've seen so many people here in Poland that never buy an original release (vinyl, CD or even tape) so i though that you're one of them. Sorry if i wrong!!

@emma
so, do you mean the tape versions are only avaible in Poland?

seeing a vogel album on tape is about as rare as seeing a real boob in california. it just doesn't happen.
the only cristian set i ever heard was the one he posted on this site (had the long atmospheric intro than morphed into a track from the Rescate album) i think it also had that Horrorist remix of Dave Tarrida on there.

Real Tits in California ? Who needs them ? I don't care if they are real I just want to lick em. Plastic girls rule, at least they take care of themselves. My friend I think you've gotten jaded by the hairy girls up north. Every time I go to Oregon its like I'm reading Beowulf all over again.....

As far as the Horrorist remix of the Tarrida song, its HORRORMONE its on the Paranoid (again) EP, Tressor 162. Its a real Nazi sounding trak, fucking wild. There is also a Vogel traack on it called Humatics.

Lady E
27th August 2002, 13:23
no more debate about plastic breasts please lads.
im not averse to such debates myself but find that they are best conducted in person, rather than committed for all eternity in writing.

what is this oregon shit though? it sounds like its just full to the brim with hippies.

well, yes, oregon has been known for its hippies (which at one time flourished in the valley of Eugene) but these days they seem to be dying off. there are alot of communes and organic farming is big here and the fact that there are so many people into the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, that may be a reason. i think the main one is because Oregon has some of the best marijuana in america. i've tried it, it's unlike anything else. but only once. maybe twice...a day.
