A great film. Shot with care, passion, love and mostly understanding. The title itself is one that evokes mystery, it asks you a question. How can a mind be spotless? And if there was sunshine in your mind that would be you never get to sleep properly. Which sums the film up. It is like being irratable at work on monday, after a late sunday night. Not to be missed. Great stuff.

i thought it was brilliant, easily the best film i've seen all year. it was really funny watching loads of neds walk out of it because it was fucking their heads up too much.

the german title is "vergiss mein nicht" :)

i liked it as a progression for Gondry/Kauffman as it was basically quite a simple story without the tricksiness of previous films. and both leads were brilliant especially as i'd previously written them both off as my two least favourite stars.

can't have been a person in the world who didn't leave that film feeling a bit sad about memories of old flames.

best film I've seen this year. I can't imagine it being topped.
I hate jim carrey with a passion but he was great in that film

yeah...the lovey Winslet actually made me think she is a great actress.

I was deeply moved by this film, and that all my relationships with people are only my perceptions of them or just the memory.

i thought it was good. somehow i linked it to "being john malkovich" and then it hit me. charlie kaufman often has good stories to tell ^___^

I loved it, I'm so glad Kaufman went that direction, cos 'Adaptation' was pretty great, but really was dangerously close to going right up its own arse. Michel Gondry is a top geez too.

its an amazing film. i've only seen it once but i know you have to see it about 3 times to get all the little bits and peices that happen. too much to digest all at once. not surprised that it wasn't in the theaters that long. too heady for most people.

it totally blew me away, the erasing scenes were really upsetting and fantastic.

yeah, it really is a fantastic film. i absolutely love the michelle gondrey directors label dvd as well and i was very disappointed with his directing in "human nature" but was glad to see they gave him some more gondrey liek material with this one so that he could really shine.

it was alright - groovy music and special FX - Carrey though - hmm.. i'm not sure he's a very good actor

carrey - can be annoying, it can be difficult to dissociate his face from all the crap he was involved in (ace ventura like), but I think he is really good in 'eternal sunshine' or 'truman show', even more so in 'man on the moon'

Yeah, there's a video on there that I'd been after since I first saw it in the early 90s.. then never heard of it again until I discovered it on that DVD (after i'd already bought it!).. s'called "Luca With The Lid Off". I really like "Je Danse La Mia" too.

i think jim carrey is becoming a really great actor.

yeah between films like this, truman show, and man on the moon, i think he does very well when he acts. i'm just not the biggest fan of his slapstick comedy.

yeah, he'll make me laugh for a few minutes, but it wears off too quickly. i can't take a whole film of it.

after seeing 'adaptation' which I thought was a huge pile of dog shit, I am really wary about seeing this film. even though everyone seems to love it. maybe I'll see it someday. I don't really watch movies anymore anyway.

KaOz
14th December 2004, 19:57
Sheridan u really should watch it, its completely different to adaption, human nature etc... its simply well done... awesome sound track too by jon brion

The film is very good, but I almost missed it because of shitty title translation. It was "Zakochany bez pamieci" and I'm not sure how to translate it to give you an idea how shitty it sounds in polish.
"In love without memory" ?
"All forgot in love" to be more poetic ?
Nevermind, polish title was so stupid, that I thought it'd be another shitty romantic comedy.

KaOz
14th December 2004, 21:03
in germany its "dont forget me"

I utterly loved it the first time i saw it, it blew me away... then i wastched it again and couldn't help but fint it a tiny bit over-sentimental. A shitting shame, I wish i'd only watched it once.
