laidback: whitehorse
steve miller band: macho city
cat stevens:dog a donut
paul mcartney: temporary secretary
eddie grant: timewarp
doctor john: jetset
it seems that between the mid seventies and mid eighties a whole host of people took time out of letting their careers stagnate in AOR horribleness to record an effects heavy electro/disco tinged wigout. thinking of making a mixtape. anymore to add to the list. any chris de burgh proto house tunes?

Oh, not quite an AOR artist, but the last good song Stevie Wonder recorded before going to pot was 'Race Babbling', which is insane proto-house.

wounder if drugs and digging frank zappa had anything to do with this tune.

Talking of which - I'm never a fan of dodgy 80s tunes being played in the name of 'Balearic', but I have discovered I've got a weakness for 'Fool If You Think It's Over' by Chris Rea :( :( :(

The soundtrack was for a film called 'Wonderwall'. Never heard the electronic stuff - do you know what it's called?

I'm pretty sure it was re-released recently (like within the last year or so) on the b-side of 'Temporary Secretary', which is also weirdy electronic disco, with re-edits by Terry Farley or someone like that...

is that the radioslave edit? there were only 500 and it lacks the simplicity of the original

For ya'll soulseek fans out there, check out user PappaWheelie, he's got a huge collection of obscure stuff in this area (and beyond), I chatted him up once as he uses his own filenaming convention and has apparently been hunting this stuff down online for some time now.
