-some weeks ago i did sent an package to the uk that never arrived.
-some months ago a company there i'm going to work in the summer sent me a letter that never arrived
-one of my flatmates has problems with receiving packages
now, what the fuck is going on here? is it an conspiracy? does that only happen to us? only in germany? everywhere?
anyone else recently has problems with the postal service?
needless to say im pretty annoyed by that.
and also i'm going to send another package to another adress in the uk next week. wonder what is goint to happen to that when..
its everywhere marcel, or maybe it is more like the english post service, your`s isn`t the only package i didn`t get here recently.
2 other people recently have sent stuff that hasn`t arrived here.
those guys down the post offices must be having some cool parties with their new records :D
a friend just sent me some 7"s from london on the same day as a package he sent to malmo, the guy in malmo got his 2 days later, i got mine today which i think is probably a week later... weird

did anyone see that programme a wee while back about the royal mail? some people make a shitload of money stealing from the sorting offices. and a lot of posties just dont bother delivering mail.

my ex-gf works besides studying for the german post. she works at one of that 2 (or 3?) big sorting offices in germany there everything comes together and get sorted out. she told these storys too. also horrorstories about how fragile packages get handled sometimes..
as i think about it now..hmm..maybe she got it,that lil biatch. gonna call her;)

i've never had any problems with german postal service except one time it took a packet about 3 weeks until it arrived here (and it was sent from a city 20km from mine, but it also could be that the one who sent it was lazy and he lyied about when he sent it)

i have to send anything above a letter, and sometimes even letters, by special delivery, after a protracted period of about 6 months when everything we sent from the no-future online shop didnt reach its destination.
it was basically the end of the shop.
i dont trust the UK post now. so we have to spend loads of money to send stuff. its rubbish.
deutsche post ag sucks for sure - i had dozens of incidents. opened packages handed to me without hesitation (cd-rs missing inside), various packages that never arrive and letters that take a week inside german, packages handed out to other people, packages kept at another branch... i had many loud arguments with them... did you read that article on spiegel online last year about the "schnaeppchenmarkt" in schwaben where the post ag sells all those packages which are claimed to be non-deliverable? it's become absolutely incredible ever since the post became an AG. i guess that's what they call shareholder value...
unfortunately it's not easy if you're not a business to use alternative services.

I think it depends on wich area you live in : Here in Berlin it can take AGES `till your expected letters arrive..Not to mention how much gets stolen here..
Btw, Marcy..I`m glad to see that Joyce is back!!!!!

At the moment Royal Mail is blaming all it's fuck ups on the fact that second post is being abolished. Of course they say they're "combining" first and second, but that's just a nice way of saying "we're fucking it off." For this reason we've received no post at work at least six working days in the last three weeks. But that's hardly an excuse, as hackney hasn't had second post since I moved here seven years ago.
Another theory I heard today was that Royal Mail is being deliberately shit so that the public will agree to it's privatisation- something they've tried before but which resulted in a public outcry. Make the service shit for us just to make us comply. Rant rant.

warren i'm not sure if it really depends on the area with the packages, maybe with the letters. but as i know from my ex-gf there are only 2 (or more i'm not sure, but they're not much) sorting offices in germany. every package get there to get sorted, no matter if between the location it comes from and there it has to get to are only a few km. the packages get almost always sorted by the same people..
that also explains jukkas posting. although there were only 20km the package had to be driven it maybe had a way of 300+ km...

btw chuck, those 7s you sent me arrived today... nice one :)
fuck man.. the same problem here... i sended the nf mix cd to will o the wisp about 3 month ago.. never arrived... lookin forward..coz the next one is one the way.... for 7 days now
i thought about getting stickers printed: "dear subunternehmer-postman / dear low-paid mail sorter, the cd you feel thru the envelope is just a cd-r with unreleased underground abstract electronic music, it's really of no use to you, you won't even be able to dance to it. so please forward the sending and don't steal/rip it open..."

Yeah - u still have no postcodes there, hey?
I lost 2 records I got off E-bay, the sender didn't receive them back either. Was really looking forward to hearing them again aswell, the cunts.
post in aus is the best in the world aparrently.
everything I've sent arrives a few days later, everything that gets
sent to me gets there pretty quick.
I've only had one problem though, one postie stuck a package
clearly marked "do not bend" (it had a CD in it) in to the round newspaper hole, the CD was bent (not broken luckily) and I fixed it by sticking it between a couple of phonebooks for a day or two....

I'm pretty happy with the finnish postal service as well, prices are fucking high but I haven't had a single package lost yet, one bottle of booze I sent to berlin once broke in transit despite my packing it "like a pro" as I felt at the time...
I sent on 5 may some cd of my label to mdm, forfced exposure and fanatic promotion: they are still waitin'
Today after 1 our at telephone postal service tell me that my cds are still in rome...:-(

after my recent experiences and what i've read here so far, i think i could live with that. talking about high prices. better than using post and feeling like playing roulette (although i hope its not that bad already here..)
the postage rates in germany are already at an alltime height! why do you think the post ag is such a successful enterprise...
"'customer care'" in general is a topic i have enough experiences with that could do a whole concept album about. i'll put it in my to-do's.
