Anyone listened to the new album "narcissist"?
I just received a promo-cd.
It´s awesome .
It really sounds like the good old jazzy stuff of him.
For me this is the best revival of a detroit-legend so far...
But i can´t await the new Joey Beltram Album on Tresor (!!!) this year....

Not so much a revival as a reappearance, but I'm very much looking forward to the album. Larkin is one of the most consistently brilliant Detroit producers.

When did he miss? Apart from some of his oldest stuff on Plus 8 I've not heard anything other than brilliant stuff from him. His Elypsia album, the Warp & R&S albums, Loop2, War Of The Worlds, the track on the bonus 12" of A.I.vol.2....shit hot.

I've liked what I heard of the narcissist, I will be buying it. I've bought the two recent jobbies from Peacefrog anyway. I'm with Max, I really dig Larkin all the way from +8, Illegal Detroit, Matrix thru to Peacefrog now. Yeah, he has had a couple fo tracks that don't do it for me, but i can say the same about Hood and a practically have all his records.

I thought Metaphor was really noodly and dull, it really had that sound of an artist who suddenly got a really posh studio after getting amazing music out of cheap synths..

Actually one of his +8 tracks is my favorite Detroit tracks ever... I think its called 'Integration', mental DX synths.

yup larkin is the man for me too, just a shame you don't see his records in the shops as much as other detroit producers

"The Bar" is a bit shit, I agree. Gimmiky.......and a total BITCH to try and mix with all those out of sync edits.

"track" is always a great way to get a punters attention and kick off a party
