ok, so this is probably wasted on me because i don't know the show, dr. who (i am american and it was before my time). but my work just traded some audio gear for a k-9 and dalek (sp??).

the best part about them (outside of chasing the staff with a mechanical dog) is that all the sound effects are built into the units, not edited in afterwards. anyhow, it has made for an entertaining day at work at least. :)

Nice one!

I loved Dr. Who- I would stay up with my dad and watch it when I was little. Always had that short science-class "Eureka!" cartoon on afterwards...

I used to wear the same wort of scarf that the Tom ____ (?) Dr. Who used to wear...

nerdy kids.

sadly, i was mistaken. we don't get to keep k9. the guy who traded in the dalek (for a radar digital recorder, fyi) just brought it in to show us it.

but yeah, i now share a room with the dalek. you can climb inside of it and operate it that way. quite a lo-tech prop. but anyhow, it is quite cool.

Karitek, they are fantastic. I would love to have them. I would love to build my own robot, one that takes people's coats when they come into your house and then lets off a string of expleatives, sort of robot with tourrets syndrome! I have a wonderful robot from the 70's by my bed compleate with moving pistons and flashing lights! Good stuff.
