i just saw the news.........yikes
the unmentionable person attracted 250/400,000 people.

it was about 200, 000

despite my stating last week that iw ould rather eat my own sick than go to it, i was lured by VIP passes to the brighton centre balcony and therefore watched the whole thing in a very relaxed fashion. yes i know, im a slag

it was a sight to behold, im sure we will never see it again here...very badly organised and very lucky that not more people died

the music of course was atrocious. totally shit in every way.

but they did play all saints "the beach" at the end with the fireworks so that was a redeeming feature.

now the beahc and seafront is still knee deep in rubbish and town looks even more shady than usual. i hope it doesnt happen again

not to forget

palmreading by gypsy petulengro----fortune teller to the stars (of the 1950`s judging by the photos on her wall)

Will there be some wonky-wurlitzer action ?

200.000? Oh my god! Can you compare this event with Berlin’s Love parade? It’s very similar I think. At Love parade 500.000 attendants and rubbish as well.

@Emma
Vip-status can make you things you don’t want to do normallylol
You aren’t a slag.I am sorry with you that you were forced to watch this shit.

of course ! hot wurlitzer action and a sandy crack are the staples
of any good quality blackpool day out, not to mention throwing oranges off the top of the tower and seeing if we kill anyone :)

We'd need a fuck load of oranges to kill everyone in Blackpool though.... but I'd give it my best try.

Don't get me started ....

i wasnt forced, it was really good fun actually. it was a never to be seen before or since spectacle, and im glad i swallowed my hatred of the music and went.

also i was interested as we were invovled with the brighton dance parade in 1997 (the first event of its kind in the UK) which the council essentially stopped from ever happening again by bankrupting the organisers. 20,000 people came and the council made the organisers put on this huge party in the brighton centre with tickets at £30 a go - the line up was terrible (apart from the fabulous defunkt room) and it was empty all night. they reckoned that 20,000 people without anywhere to go after the parade would be chaos - well that was a children's tea party compared to this weekend. our thing was totally underground and this was just commercialism gone mad...its a mixed up world

You've got a point, what with his sponsorship of the local football team and doubtless a few choice mates down at the townhall or maybe even the masonic lodge...

...perhaps he might make a run for office in a few years time...

The Right Honourable Fatboy Slim MP... ...now that is scary...

Almost as scary as my idea of Terry Venables getting elected the Prime Minister, so we can invade Holland for no other reason that having Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Ruud van Nistelroy play for England.
