REQ: FILMS BY GEOFF JOHNSTON/PABLO FIASCO (http://www.warprecords.com/news/?offset=20&ti_id=779)

originally by warp
You can now view a NEW REQ VIDEO online. The 'video' is actually an excerpt of the film "Street Value" by Geoff Johnston (aka Jamie Lidell + Super_Collider's visual artist Pablo Fiasco) originally commissioned by Skint. The music is SOUL PLOT taken from Req's album Car Paint Scheme. The film also features kid acne.

there is also a link to watch Pablo Fiasco's video for Super collider on this page.

enjoy!

ha ha!

i dont know. it could be another geoff johnston. i know there's a connection there but i dont recall hearing geoff sing. he normally speaks his vocals - such as his part in the s_C remix of Bush 'the chemicals between us'

which is awesome.

could be him though!

out of interest, the spoken line at the end of Take Me Home on Head On ("We could just get a taxi?"), who's voice is that. I'm assuming Cristian's.

s_c remixed bush??? bush is a band that pisses me off because I liked them when I was younger and every album I have heard by them has 2 or 3 really, really good songs and then the rest suck. i dont listen to them much anymore.

yes it was quite crazy they were asked. i dont know what the band thought of the remix they did, which was a 10 minute epic drama in 3 parts about a drug called 'the vapours' which the govt were using to control the population or something.

its really really brilliant and im not sure we've even got a copy of it anywhere. ill have to have a look for that.

wasn't it used as a B-side?

sure I saw it somewhere, sadly didn't buy it, though. I'm an idiot.

yeah, it was back years ago, the same time I didn't buy the Darn Cold Way O Loving single. I think they were both in HMV in Oxford street, back when I was a kid (not that long ago, really), so I didn't have any money.

wish I had now, though

CD arrived today.. really like the remix, you're right, it is a bit of an epic.

Pablo's vocal parts really remind me of the records William Burroughs did with Michael Franti. A good thing, of course.
