last exit to brooklyn is an amazing book.

i didnt know he wrote requiem for a dream though, ill have to read it. saw the film, didnt rate it but im sure the book is excellent.

shit, he finally died, eh? the grim reaper's had his name on the cards since he was born, hasn't he?

A true character, I love his descriptions of why he became a writer, basically adding up to "I couldn't draw, I couldn't sing, but I knew my alphabet."

Also talking about how he doesn't have any say in how his books go, it isn't up to him how the characters react or which decisions they take, so even if he really doesn't want a character to do something, it's not his place to stop them, he is just the conduit for the story, the story is written by the characters.

last exit is one of my all time favs. (check out the movie as well!!)
one of my favorite authors, but I hate to say, I thought he was already dead.
