Yeah I'll be there. In a dark parallel dimension where Brighton is just one giant spring-loaded vortex and all the half-man half-cheese inhabitants are forced to compete against carnivorous singing sloworms to win life giving non-dairy creamer.
Sorry dude, but really, I mean......... really......

muteboy you seem to have ignored all the posts where people ask you why you have decided to join erutufon. i was curious, but nowyou are testing my patience - do you know what this board is about? do you know any of the music we talk about on here? are you here as some kind of wind up?

there are so many places you could talk about fatboy all day long if you want . please can you leave my board uncontaminated with it.

Now all you sucker DJ's who think you're fly
There's got to be a reason and we know the reason why
You try to put on those airs and act real cool
But you got to realize that you're acting like fools
If there's music we can use it, we're free to dance
We don't have the time for psychological romance
No romance, no romance, no romance for me, mama
Come on baby, tell me what's the word

Word up Emma

I'm going to be in Brighton for the first time this weekend, and it's my 23rd birthday, consequently I don't really want to spend it stuck in a crowd of 6000 fatboy slim supporting drones, so, is there anything GOOD on in Brighton this weekend, I believe I'll be heading to Stompaphunk on the Friday evening, but any recommendations for something worthwile on the Saturday night?

i have enjoyed the pav tav on a saturday, great 60s garage and indie, but its more for those pissed up shouting moments..the only good music in brighton on a saturday night is at the jazz rooms in ship st. for deep jazz house soul latin etc with russ dewbury, organiser of the jazz bop...ive heard some amazing music here, its not hard but its certainly deep and crazy. its a tiny club but its the best club in town.

there's probably some good bands on in any of the following venues: pavilion theatre, freebutt, hanbury ballroom, concorde. but if you want a good clubbing experience, id buy yourself a big stick and beat yourself up with it.

Thanks for the good wishes Kari & Chejai - had a good weekend by all accounts. Emma, you were right about the clubbing side of things, and I have to say I was distinctly under-impressed by the Stompaphunk night, after hearing loads of good reports it turned out to be Tyrant soundsystem playing tepid tech-house all bleeding night, accompanied by traditional 'Twat Bouncers'. Didn't fancy venturing too far towards the Fatboy Slim set up, but I have to say I have gained a bit more respect for the guy, particuarly on hearing that he turned down £350,000 sponsorship from Smirnoff and opted to foot the bill out of his own pocket (with help from his manager) - if I were in his position, I can't think of anything better than throwing a free party for 200,000 on the beach. Although judging by the absolute annhialation of the city, i have a feeling that Brighton's council may be less than forthcoming with it's support for something similar next year.

Kari, I'll be down in London over the Lost weekend, are you planning to go there at all? Would be good to see you.

no, upset that i am gonna be missing that nite, but happy that i will be in portugal :) on holiday from my family visiting from the states. i will definitely be going to the next Lost though (had a great time at the last one, my first...AFX's techno/dnb/gabba set and weatherall's dub set were great) which is supposed to be the 10 yr anniversary party or something - i think Mills is playing...not sure.

Hopefully we can meet up at some type of outdoor party in August. Let me know if you hear of anything good.

Drill Seargeant: Holy jesus, what is that? What the fuck is that? What is that Private Pyle?
Private Pyle: Sir, a jelly donut sir.
Drill Seargeant: A jelly donut.
Private Pyle: Sir, yes sir.
Drill Seargeant: How did it get here?
Private Pyle: Sir, I took it from the mess hall sir.
Drill Seargeant: Is chow allowed in the barracks Private Pyle?
Private Pyle: Sir, no sir.
Drill Seargeant: Are you allowed to eat jelly donuts Private Pyle?
Private Pyle: Sir, no sir.
Drill Seargeant: And why not Private Pyle?
Private Pyle: Sir, because I'm too heavy sir.
Drill Seargeant: Because you are a disgusting fat body Private Pyle!
