How come you think that? Are there so many good clubs in Barcelona? Ok, there's the Moog Club, and sometimes Nitsa @ Apollo, but when I was in Barcelona, I didn't find anything else. Or have I missed something? And as for record shops, is there anything like - e.g. - Hardwax?

@zombie: how many good clubs you know in berlin??? ok, there're some good parties in different places but actually you only have tresor, ostgut and the klangkrieg parties... that's it.
the others still chew the same old gum since years...

shit. it was my secret...felt into the jaegermeister...

i think BCN is not berlin but it's an incredible place and it's worth thinking about to live there, because it's musicwise pretty much connected to berlin..

yeah, i must admit i am VERY jealous of all you EU-ers who can just pick anywhere in europe to live and have a work permit. I'm american and have been living in the UK for 2 years now and it has been a struggle.

i have never been to barcelona, but i absolutely loved berlin. it was one of 3 cities that i have ever been to (others being nyc and london...both of which i have lived in) that i immediately felt at home at and wanted to live there (saying that brighton borders on being included in that list as well - really loved that city).

just out of curiousity, what artists (outside of you, christian) is making techno in barcelona?

Are there any good drum'n'bass-parties in Barcelona? In Berlin you had at least the WMF (Don't know how it's now though).

hi,

yeah i know, Barcelona, Barcelona.... with all that Sonar stuff and the few clubs like Moog and so on...

But let me tell you that there are more places than Barcerlona and Madrid.

North of Spain is really into underground Techno, there are many clubs and record stores and, of course, Asturias is the best place to eat & drink (or get drunk) in the whole country!!! haahahaha :)

A new lifestyle proposed --> techno + eat + drink + sex

bye,

Yoss

but sure - its one of europes great modern cultural cities... lots of media , lots of infrastructure , lots of good urban and international transport , lots of creative industry.. similar to Berlin in that way, but different obviously .. London is quite a sprawlin city and is hard to traverse physically .. Barcelona is quite compact really , and so's Berlin ... anyway , its much of a muchness really - the cities in my life happen to be Barcelona , Brighton, Berlin and London... i also dig Tokyo and Granada and Amsterdam and Brussels and Sydney and Paris and Copenhagen and all the other cities where I have had a good buzz... we're lucky to be living in such a time where transport has made the world a bit smaller , and we can actually experience all these wonderful metroplisses (metropoli ??) ... previous generations could only dream, or would be very lucky, to get a chance to travel around the cities of the world... now you can hop on an easyjet for 50 quid and go over to Barcelona !

yo,
barcelona is definitively to hot to be the place where good music is born. barcellona is rather the almshouse for techno producers who were successful than the new berlin!:)
inspirated music is produced where it is cold and dark, lets say in the northeast of this world. personally, I would love to see helsinki to come into being the new berlin!!

keep the good music sucking your ears

I agree with what you're saying Cristian, the world has become so small that the only limitations to travel now are funding it. But there do seem times when cities just seem to kick off and fly high for a while. From what seemed to be happening, Berlin was doing it circa the millenia. London was rockin' before then and NY was largin' it pre-911. Personally, I can vouch for Hong Kong was certainly booming mid-nineties, right before it got returned to big mama China (but that's another story) and is definately not the same. So the reason I was asking, was that there seems to be so much talk of Barca at the moment that maybe it's having it's day in the sun? Of course, this could simply be based on the fact that most of us in this fora are probably picking up on the increasing Sonar vibe and thus the exposure to Barca is increasing.........

Anyway, what the f*ck, maybe I'll check it out one day soon and see for myself!!

Small cities, whilst almost a contradiction in terms, definately carry a buzz though...........
