its on at oxegen just ouside dublin
not sure of the dates but im pretty sure its mid july
ALSO ON ARE: BOWIE , THE STROKES, FRANZ FRDINAND,
KINGS OF LEON, MASSIVE ATTACK, CHEMICAL BROTHERS, PJ HARVEY, WU TANG CLAN etc...
and the darkness and basementjaxx if these pair of dog turds tickle your fancy
theres usually a good few great irish acts added closer to the line-up who you probably never would of heard of , i highly recommend asking a few oirish punters who are at acts you like to recommend you some of these

agh.. the cure. i'm a great fan, and i have been on a concert of them in 1996 - it was definitely worth the money, dood :> they played lots old songs (e.g. forest - the whole stage was eluminated with green spotlights). i can't say if they are still good on stage - i didn't hear any of their new albums after the (still unbeaten) "wish"-album.

had them here in 2002 when they did the trilogy tour. in other cities they played pornography, disintegration, bloodflowers in full while we had a special edition, a mix of rare tracks and some hits, for example "the kiss" really rocked. it was a great and really long concert. i wish they'd drop all the singles though, especially forest, in between days, all those tracks played way too much.

I made a pact with myself when I was a teenager to see three bands during my lifetime: Nirvana - saw their last concert in Toronto, Nine Inch Nails - which I've now seen 7 times, and...The Cure.
Definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. 3 hours, no opening act, two encores. Fantastic! Worth going to see for sure.

The cure are great..I could sing every single word of their songs `till "head on the door" `seen them live once , but dó`nt know how they are now..Makes me even wonder that "fat Bob" is still goin on..
"The walk" is sure one of their "techno related" songs..

my tenuous link to the cure:
my girlfriends brother met the drummer jason in a dorset pub... they became friends.. jason is now teaching him drums, playing drums for his band and took him on thier last tour with them... he appears on their recent tour dvd...
strange things happen in dorset pubs...
