just been at a Donna Summer "performance" at a Sonig Lable Night @ ZKM (Karlsruhe).. what the fuck did he do for his money? he just played one loop after another (no, that weren't very innovative loops) and jumped around shouting stupid stuff in his mic.. never seen something as sensless as this shit!!!
I'm glad Vert from the Sonig Label was worth the whole money i've paid.

yeah, i know the guy. he lived in nyc for a while. he was the worst live act i've ever seen. he basically jumped around and waved his hands in front of the computer as if he was conjuring up the music. amazingly enough, when i went to see him (in london), the crowd went wild over it. go figure.

There's no accounting for the tastes of the masses and now with the internet they seem to have unprecedented influence... :)

Ended up sitting around a dinner table with this guy after he played in Bristol last month – seemed like quite a larger-than-life character, had some interesting stories to tell... I thought his ‘live act’ was amusing – blatantly just taking the piss, squaring up to hecklers etc… It’s just kooky cabaret innit, don't try to take this shit seriously. Some of his productions do rock the house tho.

I saw him in Barcelona last year. I think I was quite drunk and shouting abuse at him. It did look quite pathetic if I rememeber correctly, but as Ali said, its meant to be a kind of Joke (one hopes).

aw.. would love to see wevie stonder one time. hope he's coming near Karlsruhe someday.
I wouldn't say Donna Summer is cabaret, hehe.. it's more like we Germans call "Kasperletheater"
I'm looking forward for sonig-vs-noodles - guess it will be some freaky reccord :D

now wevie stonder live is wicked.

i just don't get donna summer's live show. i like individual tracks, and i get that he doesn't just want to stand behind a laptop doing nothing like a lot of the noise/laptop musicians out of nyc. but the whole jumping around thing like crazy is just annoying.
