View Full Version : How did you find No Future?
Talking to Mr Jäger about S_C, we got onto the subject of how we found No Future. Which got me thinking about it. And then, thought of a brilliant typical weekend feelgood thread:
"How did you come here?" (part something or other, sure there's been threads like this in the past)
For me, it was after hearing It Won't Be Long on MTV. At the time I hated 'dance music', was all about guitars, but the bassline on this track, combined with the excellent video (who directed that, by the way?) really blew me away. After seeing it a couple of times, and remembering to note down the artist and track name, I went to the record shop, and bought a copy of Head On. I didn't like it, apart from It Won't Be Wrong, then I liked a couple of tracks, and eventually liked it all, and then loved it all. On the back, I saw the address of www.loaded-records.com and www.no-future.com. So went to them both, Loaded's site was crap, but No Future's seemed pretty cool. I bookmarked it, and visited it every week or so, signed up to the Ever Infrequent No Future/Erutufon Newsletter, and all was well. One of the issues of the newsletter told about a message board they'd just started. So of course, I went there, and started talking similar rubbish as I talk today.
The rest, as they say, is history.

didn´t know really...could have been around 96/97, when no-future was just an information site with that great merchandise shop. its a shame the shop doesn´t exist anymore ;)
Came back around 00/01 after heared mister C in Hannover...will never forget the blue message board

tangent.demon.co.uk/nofuture or so, right? "cristian vogel likes to spend hundreds of pounds on computer games" or something like that... :D

I dont know really how I came into No future, but I visited the old site with the mailorder and all labels related to "nofuture " and one sudden day all became the blue message board and I thought, "whats this"?!. But it was really a challenge to post s.th.

aleks introduced me to emma on a party , after that weekend i visited the blue one first and instantly read my name there in a post, so i thought...hey why don't you just register here and say hello.
i remember beeing a really shy poster in the beginning, but turned out to be a spamming monster till today.
sometimes i really think i should post less crap then i do and not to spend so much time in front of my pc !

Much in the same way as Loz, actually.
MTV used to have a slot on Wednesday nights called "Alternative" from 00:00 till 01:00 am - I used to stay up and watch it, and By chance, I caught the Video for "It Won't Be Long" - pretty much transfixed by the heavy baseline of the song (and Jamie being covered in flies, which was kinda nasty...)
Put the album on a wishlist of ones that I wanted, and my best friend bought it for me fro Xmas in 1999.
I didn't come to this website though, until I chatted to Emma on Napster - I think I had 2 S_C files on my shared drive - I think P.M'ed her because she was about to d/l one of the tracks. Emma told me who she was - I was well impressed :) and then took the smart move to actually checking out the web-address in the album sleeve.

she talked with space djz, future, slam, dave clarke and other cool people at friday nights. those where the cool days.
then later thy would show Chillout soon.
they once play "303 skriker som grisar" that was really sweet. hihi.

I didn't even realise that this site had anything to do with Christian Vogel for ages after I started posting on it - I just thought it was yet another electronic music forum - I lazily didn't really look at the rest of the site and only realised when I criticised Super Collider and got myself into a pickle for daring to say bad things about one of Vogel's projects - it was quite embarrassing really. Doh!

The Dancing Fly was so great, legs going in time with the music.
Orang - to be honest, I was sure you were a gimmick for the first couple of weeks you posted. Nice to finally meet you a couple of weeks ago, though!

No worries - I should have done a bit of research before expressing my opinions in such a forthright manner - and I've just mis-spelt Mr Vogel's first name - oops:D

one dark and stormy night I was hudled over my computer determined to find websites for various techno artists/labels I was into. so I sat there and googled every name I could come up with. at one point I put in senor vogel's name and up poped a link for no-future. I checked it out. it was the blue board at the time and I registered but I watched for a while. like jukka I was shy about posting and sometimes I still am. but I found the conversations stimulating and the people interesting and so nice so I stuck around. although I haven't been around much as of late...

well did check out this site from time to time when it was "the no-future possé site" info about the artists and stuff. then it turned out to be erutufon and info about S_C, and later a messageboard and I joined.
anyone else remember the shop? I can't remember much from that, apart from a blurry picture of emma in one of the No Data tshirts.
erm i do.. always wanted that red tshirt with the HUGE mosquito

It was pretty much at the beginning of the blue message board...I think I read the URL in de:bug or groove or in the internet, and as I was into Vogel's music since 1995 I had to check it out!
i think the first time i came here was in '98. i stumbled accross it while searching for info about the artists i was getting into at the time (vogel/landstrumm/schmidt). then, a while ago, i came back and discovered the forum, lurked for a while and then started posting. been here ever since.

...Coincidence actually...I was so pissed off with other(German) forums `till my pal Michel(who worked at the labor club) told me"do`nt you know Cristian Vogel`s site?"
I went into the site and saw Jukkas avatar...And i knew, this will be fun!
It was the time when Cristian had a booking in one of my mates
clubs "labor" and cristian could`nt come `cos his records got nicked on the flight...
I could`nt beleive that happened, till i read the thread...
