@MUX

Have they? Oh well, they're not really on my list of people I really want to see anyway.

Apparently the Leeds part of the Carling Festival's been cancelled, which was the only part (there is also a pretty much identical lineup at Reading the same weekend, all part of the Carling Festival) that Guns'n'Roses were on the lineup.

As my friend says, perhaps he should hold a festival in 2 locations, say that The Pixies and The Smiths are reforming for one of them, then fuck up the license application, and get it all cancelled.

what is rod stewart doing there, headlining ? i always thought that today he's only popular in places like germany, preferably among 'older audience'...

MUX
19th June 2002, 14:57
he is a post-dated sex-god
seeing him there.. i wonder why the elf of pop aka. cliff richards ain playin...

Loz
19th June 2002, 16:18
Cliff Richard was on UK Daytime show 'Celebrity Ready Steady Cook' today. Very odd, thought he'd be above that. Usually they stick to soap stars and c-listers.

Not many new bands in the new bands tent, though.

Perhaps it's the tent that's new, not the bands.

There is no Traveller's Field, check here for more details of this year's Glastonbury Festival, brought to you in association with the good folks from Mean Fiddler (ahem)

<http://headheritage.com/uknow/features/index.php?id=36>

and here is a letter of request from Mr Eavis himself...

<http://www.glastonbury-festivals.co.uk/2002/michaelsletter.html>

I don't want to go jumping to any conclusions or spoiling people's mood, but I really haven't the foggiest what this year's Glastonbury is going to be like... I hope it all goes well for everyone going...

i highly doubt that there will not be a traveller's field. it might not be right next to the festival as in previous years, but i am sure that they will have some freeparty nearby (i think rumours are that it will be like 4 or 5 miles away). i dunno - i plan (as well as most ppl i know) on goin to the traveller's field with no real intention of jumping the psycho-militaristic fence into the main part of the festival (there aren't even that many acts in the main bit that i really want to see...). i was just curious what other people who have contact with rigs outside of london had heard about the site.

Yep, apparently there is a site a few miles from babylon, not excactly sure where yet though. We are taking a rig and plenty of vehicles anyway.

i'd love to see Techno Animal in the dance tent but I don't have a ticket unfortunately but I'm going to see them at the ICA on thursday. Anyone else going?
I have the following info phone numbers for a 'fuck-glastonbury festival' party: 07050601945/07092230023
i got these numbers from the 'rupture' fanzine, they also add the following comment: "glastonbury is turning into a high-security stockade with some music amidst the rampant commercialism. Fuck it off this year and join the party nearby"
I have no idea where they are going to do it but people will probably start going there on wednesday/thurday.
