well either way...starting on Sunday im on the damn thing
i weigh 185 lbs

i wanna weigh about 150

ill let you know what happens

Oooh thats so unhealthy, you will get real bad breath on that diet.

If you wanna loose weight the best way is to cut out cheese completely, have a good wholesome breakfast with tons of fibre, dont eat any later in the day than say 5pm and dont mix carbohydrates with proteins, so cut out spagetti bol and things like that, just opt for 1 or the other with protein and carbos, and if you wanna eat bread eat brown. If you want a snack have salad. I have tried so many diets and believe me if you wanna lose weight try the above and the weight will fall off and stay off, and its much more healthy than just eating protein.

hey guys be careful...never cut out carbohidrates completely from your diet!!! i'm not joking, - if you eat only proteins u'll get even worse! instead go veg! eat lotsa salad (don't fill with too much olive-oil), fruit, vegetables, eggs (proteins), bread (the healthy one) and milk - wherever you can try to use honey instead of sugar and eat lots of dry-fruit like walnuts and so on... cheers!

you should go running for 4 or 5 times a week for at least 1 hour, and eat healthy stuff, cut all that junkfood and no food after 5 or 6pm like me? said, drink loads of water.

Best way to lose weight is running! Burns more fat per hour than any other form of excersise apart from maybe cross country skiing. Also it is important to built it up gradually or you'll hurt yourself and get pissed off with it! Also it is important to stop being a greedy bastard and start sticking to your 2500 Kcal for men or 2000Kcal for women. But dont excersise on the atkins diet or you'll fall over!
Surely its hard enough to stick to a normal balanced diet when your out getting wrecked every weekend without starting a diet!? Some weekends I dont eat from friday night til monday morning.

dont do it man! only do it if your really fat im talking 280-350 range cus that will help you get to a place where you can atleast run again like aleks said.

running and changing your diet, not starving youself is the way to go. also consider working out and maybe lifting weights. it will not get you bulk becayse muscle weighs more than fat and will help you loose you weight.

eating less is good, but not to extremes, just enough to get your metabalism back in a healthy rate.

i lost 10 kg last year, doing what i´ve said some posts above... and i still ate proper food. no special diet required to losse weight, only the will to get your lazy bum almost every day.

i live off pasta. that's why i have such an excellent posterior.

It's amazing how much interest there is in Atkins.

I bought a copy of the "Diet Revolution" last year - it really does make for an interesting read, when you look at the lifestyle-plan that it lays out for you, and the different stages that you'll go through. The explaination for Ketosis (the 'smelly' aspect of the plan') is something that you should look at too....

Atkins does work very quickly, so if you want fast weight loss, it's pretty much great for that - although there is still a huge black cloud hanging over it... it's really something that you'll need to think about....

A better diet to me would include...

increased frequency of fucking..
drink lot's of Maté (appetite suppressant)
more practice mating...(obviously not real mating as that will put alot of weight on one of the partners..)
more fucking
lots of pasta, preferably mixed with salad and oil dressing with balsamic vinegar and fresh herbs...
more fucking
and lots of fresh air.

if you are seriously thinking about atkins, you should look into the south beach diet. i've not tried either, but the south beach one is very similar to atkins, but much more healthy - focusing on eating veggies and lean protein.

atkins diet is full of pseudoscience bollax. a horizon prog spent about 50 minutes drawing out the reason why it works. simply that protein fills you up. so you eat less calories. all this stuff about ketosis etc is pure snake oil quackery.

simplest way to lose weight is to walk/ride a bike instead of public transport/car.

isnt ketosis what happens if you stay on the diet for too long though?

good advice all round from everyone.
eat a healthy breakfast, eat minumum 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, eat as much fresh food as possible, eat lots of small meals to keep your blood sugar levels on an even keel, snack on fruit and and nuts, drink lots of water and low caffeine drinks, do some exercise every day, cut down on alcohol and sugary foods.

and exercise. if you dont exercise regularly while dieting you will lose mainly muscle mass instead of fat. plus, muscle mass burns more calories, so you increase your metabolism by being more in shape. good stuff.

my boyfriend did it for two weeks or a month or something. he said it was horrible and he is a staunch meat eater. its also really expensive and you feel really nasty. its not a healthy way to go but it cant harm for a very short term and if you lose the weight during that period you then have to know how to keep it off and be healthy with it.

i love cheese. it's my fave form of milk. good for your bones n teeth too, and has a natural anti-tooth-rot-bacterial effect. I eat lots of cheese and have only one filling, and I'm 37.

i really wouldn't recommend self inflicting ketosis to anyone here on the board (and hence atkins) as it is essentially sending your body into a state whose closest medical relative is that of a diabetic coma

the best way to lose weight is to eat less and excersise more, permanently

if you undertake a temporary weght loss program (e.g. a diet) then you can only ever expect the results to be temporary
