i dont know if any of you know this music but the ad is being reshown at the moment, top electrobooty track with lyrics that sound spanish then seem to turn a bit russian/slav
top track , i emailed nissan asking them what it was , but got no reply, bastards :)
the ad has a load of people doing a marathon typa run and the 4wd is there in the ad to (obviously i s`pose)
do you know who did the music?, i`m about ready to buy a scart lead and sit by the tv 24 hours a day to record it off the box. hehe

fucking crackin track
Loz
22nd January 2004, 21:58
I've just had to burn it onto CD to play in the car on the way to work tomorrow
It is one of those songs that makes me want to be a DJ (What's the SP? did that to me, too), because I'd love to slap it on the decks to an unsuspecting crowd, and watch the floor go crazy.

Loz

they were floor length skirts anyway so veins weren`t an issue, i just think a bloke over 30 in a skirt and makeup (unless of the tranny persuasion) isn`t so much fun, no worries, i`ve got more issues than smash hits lol

I really like that track it makes you want to do a quick 50 yard dash down the aisles in tescos
talking of music in adverts - I'm beginning to get quite irritated by the new coors beer advert with the slimy DJ playing rock/country music to what surely should be an outdoor rave?
Lady E
23rd January 2004, 11:03
yes totally agreed. it actually sounds a bit like T. Rex...but whoever decided that music was a good choice is an idiot.

who is the track by emma? wots the story?
there seems to be a lot of media bullshit surrounding so-called 'funk balls' in brazil, v similar to tabloid hysteria surrounding early raves
'young people having fun and dancing to dirty music!!!' etc...
for example

the lyrics go something like this:
"who fucking ratted on me?
I'm going to cut your finger off
I'm going to hunt you down
I'm going to kill this rat"

excellent.. I did a search online last night, and so far it's only on a Brazilian compilation cd. Nice to see it released over here. Be getting a copy if it's not vinyl only.

Wow this brazillian booty shit is pretty menkle. I'm imagining Rio Beach booty shaking to it... *faraway look in eyes* ...sorry about that. Can't wait to hear more of this stuff. Is this an established genre then? Are Mr Bongo going to put out a compilation or anything?

Hehe! Only the untrediest londoners go the amhurst, it's a proper locals pub.
It's in quite a rough part of hackney and it used to be totally hanging - then it re-opened as a tapas bar - but the area wasn't ready for such trendiness and they had to stop doing tapas after 4 months because they "weren't working out"...
So you got yer comfy sofas but very few trendy londoners. They've usually mostly gone by the time you'll be playing but last time I did the warm up there I was barked at by an chair-wielding irishman to "Staap playin dat fookin shoite!"
It's wicked... You'll love it... See ya there!

hey, i`m from blackpool, anywhere that doesn`t have kiss me quick hats for sale on every corner but does have trains that run under the ground is trendy in my book ;)

emef

Its a style thats been around for ages - my sister bought some CDs back from Rio for me a few years ago, and thats where I got into it for a while - its from the Favelas , its a real hardcore scene , lots of guns and drugs , and the songs all have violent and sexual lyrics...
I used to play this one track a lot out, which was a version of Rhythm Is a Dancer , but all out of tune with what sounds like a real trashy bird singing out of tune on the mic.. I stopped playing this stuff in the local bar , when Brazilians were telling me more about the scene where it comes from and how fuckin rough it is! 0 kinda lost some of its fun - still I have a couple of CDs full of the stuff -I think they used to call the style , Funk Karaoke or something..
Loz

I felt the same about Philie-T until someone told me how rough Chelmsford was.
Paddy

this is a funny wee tune and i was wondering what it is. are the lyrics not in portrugese?

so is this the stuff they play at the Funk Balls? The parties where gangs stand on different sides of the room and run into the other side, often getting kicked to death in the process?
Paddy
26th January 2004, 13:06
ive heard about this scene too. very rough gangs with very voilent initiation rules and stuff. the clubs are meant to be really fuckin scary, as in, you will be killed if you go in, and nobody will bat an eyelid. i cant remember where i learned about it , maybe off the telly or in a book or magazine.
they're very big on their booty shakin'.
