I could have had that top away, the more I think about it.. Sky-blue zip up top, with the logo stitched on the left side... he's just dumped it on his floor.

welll strictly speaking it is uniform. it was originally US manual workwear, like dickies, big smith, the one with the monkey...all those skatewear classics.

I where the hooded tops for the simple reason that they are fuckin warm!!!
It is quite a popular label tho - aint they based in Deee-troit???

yeah thats it. i got annoyed by highly freakedout designed clothes which you always have to look after cause they get so fastely damaged. not that i dont like cool designed stuff, it just has at least to last more than a half year.
and yes, i did knew carhartt and the likes used to be 'originally US manual workwear'. maybe thats why they last a bit longer

My Carhartt belt started to slip after 2 weeks. I bought a replacement one from Hennies at 1/4 of the price and it's still going after 1 year. Also, I associate Carhartt with small-time middle class drug dealers.

Ouch*...okay, sorry to hear that your belt didn't last the distance... mine is still going strong after nearly 3 years, so I'm just biased. My Jonny loves Rosie belt in the same style still loves me...
Dude - I promise I'm not a small-time middle class drug dealer either.... lol

Yeah I know, sometimes I wish I could get over my general label hatred. I know lots of nice people who wear Carharrt, but the people who seem most dedicated to it tend to be total Hoxton type twats, who you just know would much rather be wearing Maharishi if they could afford it.

Is just the reference to Maharishi - I know someone who has a pair of tousers by the above...
Unfortunately, you may end up classing them as a "Hoxton style twat" as I first did on initially meeting them (bad girl).
Ooohh, I like this thread!!!!
Lady Soul are also excellent - as are Triple 5 Soul - one of my favourite t-shirts is a 555 Soul with this trashy "Mistress Soul" logo across in, in the style of some gossip newpaper.
Stussy & Nudie - good stuff too.

It's weird cause carharrt here in texas is cowboy wear...can't find anything like what ya'll have in europe?...I wonder if they make a certain kind of clothing for one area of the world and then sent the crap to texas...
Favorite labels as of late - Dickies, Puma and Lakai and Matix...
Other than Dickies (a company that is from DFW, Texas....) I'm more of a logo whore...I'm partial to how logos look<don't care too much of who makes the clothing as long as the logo is sweet...
I like the logos to be simple, small and well designed...;)

carhartt is way too expansive and i hate it spending loads on money for clothes (there are better things to do with my money).
C&A is a good shop and the prices are still okay (even if they get more and more expensive)........
i don't like big label logos on my clothes !
marcel
9th January 2004, 18:46
the thing i like about carhartt is that you get a goodlooking qualitypant for 49€. i doubt you get the same at c&a. maybe cheaper but not something that lasts like they from carhartt do
do you think 49€ are expensive for pants? just curious. how much do you spent?
jukka
9th January 2004, 18:50
you definately get a pant whichs quality is as good as carhartt pants at c&a for the same price.
hmmm......i usually buy realy cheap pants......about 20-30€ sometimes a bit more.
i also sometimes buy pants for 5-10€, but they just last for a year then ;)

yeah I used to kick about with the bristo mob wen I was wee. I take it you've both been to 'odd one out' on Victoria street in edinburgh? well nice stuff, beware though, my mate neil calls it 'odd nob out' cos his fly broke on a pair of jeans he bought there. tribal junkie in Glasgow has nice stuff (lady soul), DJ jives used to be better years ago (when they had tones of stussy shit) but sometimes they can surprise you...
