i dont know if im going to go, i might go to primavera sound in barcelona at end may instead

cristian and las perras are playing and he's playing in a band with chicks on speed, plus they always have excellent line ups.

but there was talk of cristian doing some orchestral thing at sonar where they had herbert big band last year...so we will see.

anyone know about how you can get a stall at sonar.

atp looks the best option so far as they already have shellac, the boredoms and kid 606 lined up but will it compare to last years one.

I've never been to either of these b4 and this year might b my first trip to Sonar, so I was wondering what the setup was like over there. Is it like Glastonbury where you have camp sites or is it based in a town like Berlin?

Hints and tips on getting there and what to take (eg tent not B.N.s) would b helpful to me and all those uninitiated. cheers

I think it's very expensive to get a stall in the record fair.....
and loads of work by the sounds of few people I know that did it last year.

Not the way to do sonar. all couped up in a building missing out on loads of playtime

lokut:
sonar by day (usually Friday and Saturday) is held in a modern art gallery in the centre of barcelona with an outside area, there's about 5 or 6 stages/ rooms (these can get pretty crowded).
sonar by night is held on the outskirts of the city in a disused airport hanger, which is massive, there are 3 main stages, the smallest being the outside bar which holds about 5,000.
It's probably best to get a cheap hostel, hotel or flat share in the centre of town, they usually have links on the website...
www.sonar.es
Last year they started an extra thursday night concert (Mathew Herbert) in a concert venue in the city centre.

they might completely change the set up tho so don't quote me.

Only been to 2003, but that didn't suck at all - Mills, Aphex, Garnier played stormers. Soft Pink Truth and T. Raumschmiere did wicked live sets too. Bjork was too crowded though
