I watched and enjoyed it, lover of cheap thrills that I am (in this case, the cheap thrill of not being that lardy). Not as enthralling/horrific as that "Fat Women and their Feeders" doc that was on last year though.

Looking forward to the Bodyshock programme about John Merrick tonight (9pm, Channel 4, if anyone's interested).

there was something about fat kids on german telly yesterday as well.
didn't watch so long, but there was a mother who hung around with her 14 year old daughter every day and she said that their only hobby and fun is eating.........her daughter already needed a artificial respiration tool (dunno if thats the right description) in the night !
thats fucking horrible.......i mean parents are there to take care of their children !

i was torn between that and the hell's angels documentary on bbc2 so watched that, which was actually quite dull. i did watch the christopher hitchens programme on texas before the fat one though, very interesting.

the feeders programme was amazing! totally fucking disgusting! mind you, the really fat woman on the prog last night looked as though she'd been fattened up a bit too...

the john merrick prog looks good. ther's a pic of him in the radio times how he would have looked, if he didnt have the disease.

I liked the Christopher Hitchens programme, he can appear wanky in print but was quite likeable in a weird way on camera. The Texans were WEIRD and I really didn't know what to make of them. Maybe that was because I find it quite difficult to dislike anyone who speaks like Hank Hill?

The Hells Angel thing WAS disappointing wasn't it? How could they go wrong with source material like that?

The funniest thing was how difficult it was to get a sense of being scared of a big dorky French Canadian in thick glasses, even if he was a mass-murdering gang boss.

I've only read the extracts, but he rubbishes just about every lefty of note, Hitch included, for not cottoning on to Stalin badness.

You're definitely more hardcore than me then, I can't cope with parasite stuff so had to give that series a miss. I have to say that I was VERY disappointed with the Elephant Man programme on Monday, very thinly-stretched material that just degenerated into rather horrible grief tourism.
