I bet the party was great, i'd have liked to have been there for the experience of it. I dont see anything wrong in plastic boobs either, each to thier own, I used to think it was terrible but now I have got a bit older and already had 3 kids I reckon I have changed my mind, I may even get them done one day. :)

Me? thats different. im not a body fascist and people can choose what they want to do with their own bodies, especially after childbirth or trauma to the body. but the 'ideal' perpertrated by hefner et al is of tall blonde large breasted, slim hipped women. the barbie basically. i dont think this is particularly interesting or cool in fact i think its pretty sad. people have to do what they have to do to survive and i respect women who work in the sex industry but in my opinion the playboy mansion represents a creepy anodyne stepford wives approach to sexuality...conformist bodies and airbrushed, identikit features. complicit, passive women, lecherous voyeuristic men expecting that everyone there is available. women constructed basically to conform to an ideal which is about pleasing men. it just seems to me that this is the worst of the sexist stereotypes of both sexes. i dont admire Dj Hell for playing a party there.
Me?

Suppose im quite liberated sexually, like I said each to thier own. I can see what your saying but the women there wouldnt have been there unless they wanted to be.
One of my best friends is a porn star and she has made a good career out of it, she now presents programs on a porn channel and has done tons of films. I have had big chats with her about her career and believe me anyone without strength of character wouldnt get involved in that kinda thing in the first place. You have to be one hell of a strong minded woman to get involved in all that, no matter how dumb and blonde they look there is a method in thier madness and those women know what they want and how to get it. The men are used as much as the women, if not more so. Good luck to em. I can see what you are saying and how you could be worried for the females, I dont think though that the women there are quite as dumb as people make them out to be, they are in a different world to us and from talking to Lucy I know the women actually enjoy thier work if they didnt they would fall at the first hurdle. Its all about money and Playboy know how to make money, im sure if you were a women in the porn industry, getting yourself in Playboy is a big career move.

but thats the thing, playboy doesn't feature hardcore pornstars. and the former playboy centerfolds who have gone into the hardcore side (teri weigel) for instance are ostracized by the playboy organization. playboy has a specific style and image to uphold. it used to be about 'the girl next door' kinda look. but now the kind of image playboy presents is very similar to that of cosmo or vogue. the unatainable beauty. beauty that can only be created via make-up, lights, and photoshop. almost all playboy models fit a specific criteria/stereotype. i.e a certain height, weight, breast size, nose contour, etc. and a lot of the girls who want to get into playboy and almost meet those criteria have to get surgery to meet 'playboys standards'. which I think is bad. considering that playboy is the most well known and respected publication in porn/erotica today. but if you look at other porn mags like hustler, club, fox they too have surgically enhanced models but they also have a lot who are not. and to boot a lot of the lesser known mags feature 'girl next door' pictorials where any girl can send in pictures and have them published. everyone from flatchested to fat get in the mag. something playboy would never do.
I actually saw the 50th aniversary edition of playboy and they have fold outs with small pictures of every centerfold and you can see the difference and progression of the kind of girls they use. it was actually pretty interesting. and to top it all off, the 50th aniversary centerfold likes to dj so they had her posing nude with some 1200's. I found that fairly amusing.

11th December 2003, 21:25
Isnt it just a sign of the times though? All those computer enhanced models, like anything thats 'fashionable' it moves with the times of what people today find sexy and of course what sells. Maybe if they were to ask the man in the street they may actually find out that most men prefer thier ladies a bit more natural and with a bit more meat on em.

I don't think that can be said in such a general way. There are a lot of levels to the porn industry and women are often truly exploited...they are not all as headstrong as your mate, unfortunately. It's got dark depths, same as any slightly illicit industry.

I've only dj'ed a few times in me short life but boy oh boy would I play for those cute little hunny bunnies!
On a side note, fake melonas feel nice on the surface but the depth consistency is different. It;s a personal matter of shape aesthetics.
I personally don't like 'em unless they are a maximum C-cup with a natural curve/slope. When it's hard to tell, then it's all good.
BTW, Hugh is the DON! He changed society as we know it today.
And that is quite an accomplishment. I wonder though how dj Hell got the gig? I figured someone like Paul Oakenfold would have been the first choice.

me? i agree with you about women in the sex industry. this is the oldest profession in the world. i have friends who have worked in this profession and believe me they got out as soon as possible, but thats no comment on those who stay in and choose to continue. i dont believe its only exploitative of women and i dont applaud any exploitation of men either. in terms of degrading work its on a par with selling your soul to a variety of bosses so shouldnt really be treated any differently. i also agree with animal night train that the many different levels in the industry means that its not all peachy and positive choice for people. recent documentaries about eastern european girls and boys being sold into sex slavery is evidence of this. i guess its the most basic expression of capitalism in action so no-one should be shocked.
my problem with playboy is its presented in such a sanitised, homogenised way now. these are bodies divorced from desire, separated from function...they just seem to be presented as blank ciphers, a fantasy of many willing, pretty much identical bikini clad girls , clean and hairless and plastic...not like real women. they may be fascinating, driven and ambitious people but no-one is interested in that. they are interchangeable. thats the fantasy.its just very dull to me. i like the burlesque stuff thats being coming out a lot recently, the face did a whole issue about it and i watched a tv programme. beautiful individual sexy women, dirty, bawdy, gorgeous clothes, classy behaviour...you could imagine having a great time with dita von teese. its aesthetically and culturally just a lot more interesting to me and sends out a more healthy message about bodies and sex.

Yes Emma and ant I can see your points I really can, believe me I know about the child sex industry as it has effected me personally. I know there are bad things that go on out there. I just dont see how porn will ever be stopped and in the most part its harmless and sorts out a lot of frustrated men (and women probably!). I think there is good and bad in everything, whatever it is someone somewhere will come along and exploit it.
I once nearly got into the sex industry but decided against it, I dont think I could have handled it and I would have been doing it for the wrong reasons and I knew that, a lot can do it and I have the utmost respect for them if they are doing it for the right reasons.

The wrong reasons would be if a woman was doing it through lack of respect for herself, this can come about through bad childhood experience of sex, lack of self esteem and other phychological things that can effect you.
The right reasons would be that as daft as it sounds some women who work in the sex industry dont have those psychological problems and just enjoy thier work.

a bit off topic, but i just watched the documentary, Sex: The Anabell Chong Story. It's about Grace Quek, who held the record for having the slept with 251 men in 10 hours. Not the most well done documentary, but a very interesting look at the porn industry, why she got into it, and how it affected her life. I am definitely glad I saw it. If you do watch it, make sure to get it on DVD, so you can watch the "inside Anabell Chong" extra - it really gives you a completely different perspective on the whole thing.
Also, has anyone been watching Family Business on Showtime?

okay. but bad childhood experience of sex would in my eyes more lead to the behavior of not wanting to have sex. a good friend of mine got nearly raped by her (now dead) dad. and what i know from her, she had really problems with her boyfriends and with having sex then she got older. (dont want to tell anymore here about this, the first time i heard that, well, you can imagine how i felt then. we were never together btw, 'only' close friends).
i think most(! not every of them) of the women are in the beginning too naive or dont have a free choice, i doubt that the most of them do make it because of the money and that they're having fun doing it.

you´re fairly wrong with generalising bad experience with sex in childhood resulting into an antiattitude towards sex.
it´s just leeds to a disturbed social and/or sex behaviour. some woman of that kind like to relive their victimrole or the role of the
man-satisfying-object for example. molested boys can turn into sexaddicted men till some point they need the satisfaction of being a rapist themself (feeling the power that was once took from them)
the stats say that every 4th girl and every 7th boy till the age of 18 have some sort of abuse experience. the term abuse can also mean
on a psychological way which can have same effects as really being raped. there is some mad shit going on out there.
i think in the sex business are a lot women who had some sort of abuse experience. some can "heal" themself or learn to cope with that thru confronting themself on that way more or less consciously but most are making themself to another victim.
an example is a miss america from the 50ies. she tried to be beautyful and all that shit just to be loved by her dad. the sad part is that he raped her and her sister as they were children repeatedly through their childhood.
later on she revealed that in public.
so her we have our sexy 50ies "playboy" girl....
