i just got back from seeing this film and its amazing...go and see it if you get the chance. i'm not going to try to describe it, but i will say that its the most human film i have ever seen...

has anyone else seen it?

waking life is definitely amazing, i'd have to say it was my favorite film from last year.

it was just so surreal the way it was done, 30 animators drew on and colored the digitized images, frame by frame. each animator followed a character through the movie, giving that character his or her own color scheme and traits; all of this was done using 'rotoscope' technology.

plus it was shot in austin, tx...loved that film.

I love Richard Linklater... His films are everything that Kevin Bloody Smith's (Clerks, Mallrats) pretend to be... I mean it is just stoner bullshit, but it is at least stoner bullshit with a sense of its own silliness and a desire to think itself in more interesting directions...

LOVED IT.

Watched it this past weekend....first movie I've seen in a while that had some honestly solid discussion content. Great little synopses of relevant human philosophies for the next century...sure, the animation inspires a drugged mentality, but the messages are on point - A good movie for the soul.

Definitely on my DVD buying list!
