Hello
I have been asked to do a review of the LIVE software for a German Website specialising in electronic music (www.memi.com). Have any of you used this program, especially on notebooks? I would love to hear from you! Any info regarding stability etc would be nice. On my desktop PIII, it works alright but the track number is quite limited.

Yo FORMAT,

I've got that baby, great tool for sequencing audio-files.
I've got a toshiba satellite 3000, PIII, 1.3GHz, 512 MB RAM,
on board sound, running WIN XP.
7 ms latency, 14 to 20 tracks at once, each with a couple of VST's.
I played with the demo-version in december and just had to get it.
played 4 live-gigs with it and I really am impressed. no hang-ups,
no drop-outs, maximum 70% CPU (I could reduce on 'em VST's).
and a f*#kin' round of fun exploding over my MIDI-controller........

hey ischo
good to hear... is that a stock toshiba with no additional sound hardware? sounds too good to be true actually.
I have got the software on my desktop, but let's face it it's meant to be used on portables on stage. what kind of music do you play and did you pre-produce the stuff in another sequencer program?

let me know EVERYTHING about it, I'm so keen on trying that, too - though I'm still undecided about whether to get an apple or pc (currently pc)

regards

i wish you could play vsti`s with it too but no, just audio loops

just a stock toshiba, no additional soundcard (will get RME soon)
my style's like, dunno maybe "micro-house" (more micor than akufen). I pre-produce loops with my MIDI-stuff, record over a STUDER A900 console (best EQ's ever) into wavelab, cut 'em loops, play around 'em VST's and re-arrange the shit in LIVE!
Well sometimes. I kinda like skip between MIDI-sequencing to record on DAT and audio-sequencing in LIVE! whatever mood I'm in.
About my system setup, here's the clue:

re-install XP with less than half of it's "REALLY NEET" additionals.
No appz I don't need (picture it, movie maker, all that windows crap,
no photoshop(like before) no, no, no.....)

and all of the sudden, as assumed, i have a rock solid mobil music-turnmill.........
and VSTi's will be supported very soon

played ableton on the 600 mhz ibook for a long time today.. and it just simply worked beautifully..... 19 tracks and about 15 plugins, then it became very very slow.............. beautiful look, too!
do any of you use this notebook for audio work? the only thing missing is a pc slot really, and maybe a G4 processor........

regards,

i take it LIVE is made for sequencing hardware-stuff most of all. but has anyone experienced using it together with REAKTOR maybe? can you link it via vst? what kind of files does it eat?
