price for clubs

I have seen on the net and heard about parties here that people are throwing
and a lot of times there are really good talent that I would kill to see live,
and the price is only like £4 - 5. sometimes it close to £10 but all in all a pretty fair price for a solid night out. so how come the prices are so much lower there than compared to the states. Here if you spend $5 you see shit dj playing even shitier tunes. a good night out is like $15 - 20. and god forbid if someone like shasha and digweed or oakie play, the usual cover price is like $45. not that I would I golol

here in stuttgart (neue heimat) the normal price is 8 euro, sometimes 10 euro (on nights like sativae etc)

i would say a "normal" night (with 1-3 guest dj's) here in germany costs about 10-15 € (max.).
or am i wrong (german-) folks ??

Here in Copenhagen we have the same prices like in Stuttgart... We just have another problem. None of the brighton dudes come and play...!!? :o(
fx. tonight; Akufen costs.. nothing.. if you show up before 00.00... (incl. free beers and drinks..!!) with an invitation (which is easy to get) . After that it´ll cost 8 Euro.

Back in time there was some big raves with top-names.. the prices was at that time like in the US! something like 30 Euro...!! But it was woth the money!!!

i have never paid only 5 dm for a good party (i mean where electronic music was played and music was fine/dj good..except the parties we did...lol ).....'k one exception: wednesdays @tresor...new faces night..allways cool and only 3 € entry.
maybe it was possible in cologne to catch a good one for 5 dm, but not where i have been.

here in thuringia its nearly the same like in stuttgart and copenhagen
one guest dj and residents 10,- €.
only resident djs 8,- €, but i think thats too much.
i remember years when i paid 6,-€ for neil landstrumm or 8,-€ for listening to fauna flash, reiner trüby and michael rheinboth performing together.

but how should we keep the prices low when the costs rise up and up with no end?

In britain I think it is more expensive than mainland europe. Its easily 10 pounds for resident + guest. But can be alot more

well I know that here in the states people have a huge misconception on how much Djs get to play. for example: richie hawtin gets paid around $5000 to play, so for a club to make that back they need 500 people at 10 bucks a pop. Richie can bring in way more people than 500 but those people think that Richie gets like $10,000 so they don't even wince at a $25 or $30 price tag.

yeah, i think the states' prices for clubs are outrageous. i mean, most normal nites with a big name are at least $20-25 in nyc, while i would say on average similar nights would be around $12-15 in london.

saying that tho, a lot of it is knowing when/where to go. i remember when i lived there, there was a free weekly at this internet tv studio that had the same DJs that twilo had on wednesdays on thursdays. and there are quite a few smaller lounge-ish parties (which are the better parties in nyc anyhow) that are under $5 that still get in loads of bigger names.

well, let me tell you about the price for parties, clubs and etc. here in bulgaria.. dont know whether is normal or not, but we usually go on parties for 2 or 3 bulgarian levs, which is about 1-1.5 euro... you'll say that this is just perfect but it's all reflecting on the quality of the raves.. here come such "dj's" as marco bailey, redhead for 3-4 euro.. and the style is always that kind of schranz, which i just cant stand..
