Scrubs was definetely a funny one when it was on over here. Unfortunately, It seems like american audiences have a shorter attention span, so shows like that don't get to stay around too long.
Did they ever show, Third Rock from the Sun over there.
I never missed an episode, it was so funny.

Christ what a difficult decision. Dead Like Me would win the new comer award anyway, the person who plays the main actress is a sassy little bitch and her antics amuse me the way she is very apathetic about pretty much everything and just makes stuff up and goes with the flow.
On the other hand I'm a big Gilmore Girls fan as well (shut it). Top notch sassy action and wacky antics which is all hung together very nicely. One of the few shows that will have me and my flatmate screaming at the characters to pull their shit togehter (the other being Smallvile, at Lana because she always looks like she is about to cry and Clarke for being a tit and not gettig it on despite some of the biggest hints ever given to mankind).
Oh go on. I'll be a big jessie and say the Gilmore Girls.

I used to watch simpsons back in the days, but now there are too many repeats, so it´s getting a bit boring, although it´s way better than the other series.
Partially I like to watch these talkshow or the so called "psychodoctors" shows.

I spend too much time online to bother watching TV any more, though I do like what I've seen of Early Doors. I have a DVD of Human Remains too, which I reckon was the single most under-rated (or rather under-watched) comedy of the last few years. Mrs Knid is working her way through the whole of Buffy on DVD.

No I don't think so. They outstayed there welcome in Hadfield methinks :)
We were looking at buying a house there recently and it is the weirdest place. People were staring at us city folk and our strange clothes even though we dressed fairly conservatively.
The women who was showing the house kept going on about her divorce and useless husband. It's full on teenage mothers and divorcees
Somebody even asked us if we were local. I nearly laughed out loud. There's a shop that sells pauleens pens even. But they refer to it as 'THAT program'.

the zdf (for non-germans: zweites deutsches fernsehen) currently does - saturday afternoon, 2 p.m., i guess.
just wondering, when rtl is going to repeat knight rider from the very beginning. can't imagine a better entertainment on a lazy sunday afternoon. guess, i'll have to deal with airwolf, until mr hasselhoff re-appears on my screen.
my favorites:
- simpsons
- emergency room (i have worked in a hospital for 13 months, so please don't blame me.)
(- does harald schmidt count as a tv-series?)
- knight rider (the german fellas may want to check www.sprittwoch.de - the place, where i grabbed my avatar-pic)
- lenßen & partner (ok, it's a joke)
- lindenstraße (this isn't :) )
- bugs bunny & co. / the flintstones / tom&jerry (every man keeps some bits of his childhood...)

How could I forget the Prisoner. Envy my box set of the series.
I love the last episode.. it makes absolutely no sense at all, fantastic. And a machine gun battle to the soundtrack of Love Is All You Need by The Beatles is nothing short of inspired.

Nah. the simpsons is the most slickly written peice of satirical brilliance ever made. Something that can remain that funny for over 300 episodes just cant be beat. George meyer is an absolute genius and don't let that shitey matt groaning take the credit, when all he did was draw some shitty cartoons. hence why futurama failed...

did anyone see home&away on saturday afternoon? (no, I don't usually watch it) I'm pretty sure being out the night before at surgeon had something to do with this but it really was the most freaky bit of telly I've witnessed in a long time...Alf Stuart was reincarnated as an aborigine guy for a short time whilst his actual body was in mid-death on the operating table thanks to his crazy brain tumour represented by evil dead wife Ailsa Stuart!! It was a pretty heavy episode.
Give me neighbours any day.

I don't laugh nearly as much in an episode of the Simpsons as I used to. It used to be that you'd laugh many many times throughout an episode, now I can barely raise 3 or 4 smiles. And some of the new episodes are downright shit.
They really should learn to leave things on a high, rather than keep following the cash.
As for comedy, I thought Futurama was brilliantly written, with some absolutely hilarious moments. Plus, being set in the future, allowed them more freedom to make jokes about things.
Besides, Bender is officially the best cartoon character ever.

I've recently been enjoying Iron Chef a lot, for the second time around - an Iron Chef renaissance, if you will. For the uninitiated, it's a Japanese kitchen duel show, with extremely highgrade and expensive ingredients, and top chefs mostly from Japan, but also various other nationalities. There are 4 designated Iron Chefs; Japanese, Chinese, French and Italian. A challenger of suitable rank in the world of cuisine is introduced in longwinding cinematic introductions - the challenger then enters Kitchen Stadium, basically two fullscale restaurant kitchens in one tv studio with a live studio audience, commentators, the host etc.
The host again praises the challengers abilities, and then summons the Iron Chefs, who come rising out of the ground in front of their corresponding portraits. The challenger chooses a Iron Chef and the theme ingredient is revealed. The chefs then have one hour time to create dishes which will be tasted by a jury consisting mostly of Japanese celebrities and politicians.
The thing that gets me is the intensity, pride and sheer love for food involved most of the time, I've seen members of the jury cry several times during tasting, and today for the first battle of the 21st century, the host rode in on a horse, the challenging chef, an old master of japanese cuisine challenged sakai, iron chef french and apparently considered the best of the iron chefs. the honorary iron chefs (former iron chefs) were looking on in this special battle and even giving some comments along with the usual commentators, guests and kitchen scout team.
the challenger wrote some inspirational slogans about the theme ingredient (red snapper) in old calligraphy at some point and ceremoniously unveiled a special knife at another he claimed to have purchased for the occasion only to cut some filet and put the damn thing away again. the crowd was cheering like mad, the one half all dressed uniformly in support for the challenger, the other carrying billboards declaring their undying love for iron chef or even just sakai.
in the end, the challenger won, and this mighty old rock of a japanese man actually shed tears of joy as a special 21st Century Battle medal was given to him by a Judo gold medalist.
I can only recommend it, just makes you hungry :)

I am currently putting all of my feelings of malcontent, irritation, dissatisfaction, and general depression down to the fact that this very programe exists.
It is the laziest peice of drivel featuring a gaggle of pretentious pricks, of whom I have no interest in wether they are breathing let alone any of their irrelevant opinions.
It's only saving grace is that it is not quite as bad as Hollyoaks.
Not that I feel strongly on the matter at all........
