At the same time as in London Portion Control were coding the elements of electro-punk, in Granada Javier G. MarÃ*n and Ani Zinc created a record label (Auxilio De Cientos) to release experimental music from all over the world. A couple of compilation albums called Terra Incognita (1985) & Terra Incognita II (1986) are very good documents from this era. The Klinik saw some of its records published thru ADC. Zinc´s self-project and Neo Zelanda launched its infamous 7" Paso Hambre (this record is worth a listening) and Granada´s techno band Diseño Corbusier´s two LPs were also released thru the industrial label from Granada. These days scene were pretty different from nowadays. Sad but true, Granada really was an avant-garde city in many artistic senses. It spawned original bands and whether they were punk, techno or rock music wasn´t the question. Art in any form had its release thru a label without musical or aesthetic boundaries which was conceived and created in the wonderful lil´city of Granada. Something like that has never happened again in this city. I think its a shame...

i live in sevilla, not to far away from granada, and here i never ever hear anything from your city. but in terms of electronic music it can´t be worse than sevilla. does ADC still exist? and if so, do they have a website? are there any more andalucian groups or labels worth to be checked out?

To tell you the truth, at the moment there´s not much interest in production/release of records here, although you can find cool live-acts such as Animatek@Industrial Copera tonight. In 1987 ADC stopped producing records. Check www.animatek.net

Hey Foes!
I think this is a common thing in Spain at all. I mean, how many electronic music record labels from Spain do you know that stepped forward? How many of them all released quality music? Hmmm... In trying to make up my mind and remember, but at this moment I just can think about Alex Martin releases on Cosmos Records (Bcn) or Minifunk... But which other labels in Spain are well known in Europe? For instance Alex Martin (who made a new label recently) has published in F-comm, Klang... He had to find foreign labels to be able to publish and get a name.
This has to change. Everybody says Spain is a perfect place nowadays for electronic music, cause the scene is very nice. But do we only recognize works that come from outside the country?
