So, the US is introducing a new $20 bill soon which will be green, black, peach and blue. anyhow, the government hired a PR firm as well as the traditional means of advertising, public service announcements, and leaflets to reach the american public.

check out how funny their tactics are: (from the NY Times)

"During the introduction week, the bill is likely to be featured on many news and entertainment programs just because it's newsworthy. But it will also have a starring role on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," with hundreds of new $20 bills doled out to audience members, and Meredith Vieira, the host, explaining the bills and waving them in front of the camera. The bill will get a category of questions on "Jeopardy" and will pop up on "America's Funniest Home Videos." In one of several joint marketing efforts between the Treasury and consumer goods companies, the bill's design will grace bags of Pepperidge Farm's Goldfish crackers, and the crackers themselves will be colored to match the new bills. Images of the new note will pop up on thousands of A.T.M.'s, and the bill will even be superimposed electronically on the field during college football games on ESPN and Monday Night Football on ABC. "

I think it is very scary that they can color crackers to match money, btw.

yeah, im down in the south, this will be interesting to see. hehe blue and peach, so this means they are going to have to change all the others, 1,5,10.......

this is just strange.

they should look into getting some design tips for the aussies, since their dollars are the coolest shit i have ever seen.

renforced paper and infused plastic, with clear vellum corners and holographic pics. very cool

nah, i only think they are changing 20 and larger. they initially wanted to do more exciting designs, but americans didnt want too drastic a change in market research tests. i love the aussie bills too!

I have seen pictures of the new bills. they look very similar to the ones that have been out for a few years, but the color is indeed a bit different. it sort of reminded me of the impala that master p has, the one they showed on mtv cribs. it changes like six different colors. you see the blues and greens and yellows all at the same time sort of shifting. the technology is actually very interesting.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean, it's money. I already use it and like it. Is this new makeover supposed to cause a sudden surge of re-interest in the twenty dollar bill? Were 20's suddenly becoming unfashionable? Nobody told me...

no, its to prevent counterfeiting. anyhow, i think its weird since they have already changed all the money within the past 10 yrs....might as well get it right the first time, eh?

how do they go about making blue and peach crackers? dont you think whatever they use to make those colors would/could be toxic? i think they should hand out 20's to homeless people, as a good will gesture, make it street level.
