I have this image in my head of what you do and where you work and that, but this I know is just my imagination. I'm sure a lot of us here have an idea based on our own preconceptions....but whats it really like?
Hope you dont find this to be too forward a question. But i wouldnt mind a fly-on-the-wall documentry style look into your world (as it is with No-Future, not your private live, unless...)
just things like...whats the office like, what meetings do you do, day to day stuff really, how you got to be doing what your doing etc etc.
take your time, i'm sure we all would find it interesting.

i work in a big building in east brighton called the metway. its owned by a band called the levellers and they rent out office and studio space in it. we used to have our studio here but when cristian left tobias schmidt took over our room. ibi and justin berkovi also have spaces here but i dont see them here much, guess we are here at different times. there are loads of others here too - Orbital, Electrelane's manager, and bands who use the main studio for recording.its very cool - used to be a toaster factory. i share a very small office with paul who runs spymania and massive advance records. its really messy and full of records and piles of CDs and covered in posters and pictures of stuff we do. i spend most of my day writing emails and talking on the phone. its been really stressful recently because ive been doing the job of about 3 different people, but we're getting there. a fly on the wall documentary wouldnt be that interesting i dont think, unless Super_collider were in the building (they've been here this week rehearsing) its always more fun then.will o the wisp asked me how i met cristian and everyone today so here goes, i met cristian at university and we started going out together in 1995. in 1996 we decided to set up no future with another friend called mat consume and work with all the people you know already like Si, Neil etc, all friends of cristian's / mat's before i met them. cristian and i split up in 1998 but we carried on working together and being the best of friends.
thanks for being interested - like most girls the urge to talk about myself was too strong to resist there!

Thats very interesting Emma, thanks for indulging us.
I had the image of a building with differenet labels/artists working in it. It seems to me that this is often the case. I think there is something to be said about community there.

Renting a building from the Levellers seems a bit surreal to me (I didn't even know they were still going). Almost as surreal as Iggy Pop supporting Green Day. How fucked up is that?
I had wondered myself, but was too shy to say "what do you do?" without feeling as if I was sounding condescending. I can sleep at night know that I know. :)
