ok, so went to brighton for the first time this weekend...how cool is that place!! i absolutely loved it. :) :)

was (for some unknown reason) expecting it to be a trashy beach town (prob coz that is what i grew up in the states) but it was amazing. very trendy, very friendly - just great...like an english melbourne.

going to make a point of going there quite a bit now - any recommendations for good record shops/bars/etc??

Glad you enjoyed it. It is superb here (though it is not without its scummy side, which becomes aparrent after a little while)

Record Shops - Covert is the one specialist Techno shop, but Charlie's Orbit, Edgeworld, Bang Records, Borderline and Rounder are all good.

Good bars include The Full Moon, The Setting Sun, The Sidewinder, The Hop Poles, The Brighton Arms, The Albert, The Freebutt (which has good live music most nights of the week).

Drop us a line next time you're down - it would be good to meet some more board persons.

Cos it's rubbish. (and this is from someone who likes quite a lot of Derrick C's productions)

Yes, the Gloucester set was absolutely suberb - good to see the boys having a laugh and letting the funk loose. The Fujiya and Miyaki set was astonishingly good as well - having heard their tracks I thought they might be a bit downbeat to headline, but they "cold rocked the party". They are absolutely wicked in a jaunty joy-division way, and could go far.

There is a new shop @ the Where?House::5-8 Dukes Court (right off Dukes Lane, the pedestrian mall in the South Laines) called Teknobebes which carries a wide range of things & specializes in Tekno.

When will you be back? Their neighbors are expanding and space is being redistributed, but if you check upstairs with MicCheck, they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

no that derrick carter wasnt very good. disappointing is the word.

fujiya & miyagi - very good - everyone should rush out and buy the 7" single 'electric karaoke / rot' on massive advance records.

i hope they do well!

i missed most of their set because i had to be on the door but it sounded cool...
