Hi Jukka,
No she is in a sealed tank that she cant escape from, she does come out for a play every now and again, but I will leave her in the tank when you come to stay. Unfortunatly I may have to rehome her, I dont want to but we need cash for moving and I cant take all the animals with us. I dont think the landlord is going to like her either. I had a Goliath Bird eater too, (a very unfriendly spider) but he has been rehomed now due to our move.
She did try and escape once, it was really funny, MH and I were at a gig in Cardiff and we got a call through from the babysitter saying she ws halfway out her tank (at the time she had a makeshift lid), non of the kids or the babysitter would touch her to get her back in, I had to get the children from next door on the phone to tell them to go round and poke her back in with a stick. Everything was alright in the end.
At the minute we have a Milk snake missing somewhere, it escaped well over a year ago, I reckon it could well turn up when we have cleared all the stuff out for moving, Oh well if it doesnt the next people who live here could have a shock one day!

I agree here whaling should be banned! The japanese are very wierd when it comes to their food, they are mainly responsible for a lot of sea fish on their way out to exstinction, Cod being one of those fish. They also fish out of fishing terratories with no regard for what they are catching.
Around the start of the year I was offered a job in Puerto Rico on a reptile breeding farm that bred mainly Iguanas, but snakes and other lizards too, supposedly for the pet trade. I did some research into the company and found out that these were the biggest suppliers of exotics meat to the Japanese restaurant trade. Urgh! Hence I didnt even consider the job.

whales are crap at soccer / football, tis true

does anyone remember a recent -ish PETA pro-whaling campaign

the premise was that if the whole world ate and used only whales for animal products instead of the millions of others, the cruelty and waste etc would be vastly reduced.
as there is no way of factory farming whales that fate could never befall them, and as they must be hunted other food sources would have to be relied upon as a standby in times of whale famine

the ocean food chain would be better and support whale breeding
- its a persuasive argument, obviously only rhetoric - but made me think for about 1 minute anyway...

having said that i read an article about the woman who runs PETA in the guardian or something recently and she is an unmitigated nutbag who hates humans

No its not that is a Milk Snake, in Nature some animals defend themselves by looking like other animals. Yes it does look just like the Corel Snake but there is a difference in the Stripes. There is a species of King Snake that looks like both these too.
Basically the King Snake and Milk Snake (both non-venemous) will be found around the West Coast of North America, the Corel Snake (Highly venomous)will be found around Mexico and South America.

Venomous slightly means poisonous, although things are only poisonous if you eat them. If you got bit by a Coral Snake you would be in trouble.

Yes I have been bitten by a Milksnake, its non venemous and doesnt hurt anymore than a snake of its little size, they dont get bigger than around 3 foot, or 1 meter for you Europeans.
