maybe a bit offtopic but has anyone a clue if there's a DOS running under WinMX?? i want to install a RPC1-patch for my DVD-ROM (which is region-coded for now - fucking mafia!), but the help-file tells me to only do it in a DOS-interface. Any ideas?

thanks

use some old bootdisks

you can also try to make a own DOS boot partition with fdisk, so its possible to run DOS with every other OS... then boot with this partition and install the patch.

but why install a patch for region code??
there are ways to encode this ;)

boot disk could work, i'll try that out. i really could have got that idea myself, thanks anyway...

f-disking and making an own DOS partition is a bit to much work for me to be honest. i thought there maybe was a software to emulate DOS under WinMX.

why patching my drive??
because it is set to code 2 and doesn't even read other disks so a region-free software is no solution is it? but if you know a way to solve my problems please tell me!

cheers guys

use this to install the patch in win9x

...and this for the fucking win xp

nope. not really. i think i was more of a firmware-update (you could change the drives region-setting, but only up to five times...).

i also think that it maybe would be a bit blue-eyed for pioneer to put some kind of (illegal?) patch on their website.

but anyway, thanks for your help dr. tiny!
