Phoenix Open Air Festival Review

[OMEN]

...I´m at home again since a hlaf hour- I left the PHOENIX OPEN AIR at about 13/13.30 h....and it was really really cool !!!

...if i arrived the PHOENIX-Festival, yesterday, Swayzak was playing his live performance, but than he had to turn the Volume down after a break of 15/20minutes ! Swayzak was good !
...The Andrew Weatherhall DJ Permormance was fantastic, but he had to play on a empty open air floor !
Radioactiveman was really good, too....
Jamie´s live performance was incredible.... YOu are a really crazy guy, jamie !!!---Fantastic !!!

....at 5o´clock i went to the IndoorFloor (stammheim-Floor) where Cristián shows everybody, what a variedly, banging weird DJ-Set is !!
it was one of the excitingst DJ-Sets of Cristian i had listen to the last times !!....it was one of Cristian´s harder styled Sets and really Weird !----- I had a good time at this floor during Cristian´s Set !

...Sieg über die Sonne was fantastic, too...and Ricardo Villalobos & Luciano makes me dancing from 9o´clock till 13/13.30h today !..No words nesessary !!!


I had a fantastic evening/night/morning and day @ PHOENIX...and especially 5o´clock till the end was unbelievable.... At this time i had only listen to Chile-based or born Artists (Cristián, Sieg über die Sonne, Ricardo Villalobos & Luciano)...and they were all fantastic.excellent !.

...but now, i have to sleep....

They were also top notch at the Robert Johnson earlier that day :)
I wonder if DJs need sleep at all..

Ricardo had played at the open-air "Merkwürdige verhalten frankfurter dj´s im freien" saturday-afternoon....later at the afterhour at robertJohnson,...than he drove to PHOENIX-Festival...and i heared somewhere that he have to drive to "Hollerwiesen-Cologne", if PHOENIX will be finished to play a DJ-Set there, today evening !!
he´s the real marathonman....

was a cool night. jamie and cristian were the two highlights of that festival. jamie is incredible and the build up of cristians set was so cool.

his vocals and his cool performance. he mainly loops his vocals/beatbox and sings over that again. filters and processes all or some loop etc.

my impressions:

beginning of pierre was nice like ever when he does
set of andrew weatherhall was very good and nice to listen
radioactive man, i heard only the last track so no comment to him
Bine´s interlude was very boogizm.
jamie was crazy, but the sound-team had to fight very hard with the 2 totally different sounds coming out of the PA and the Jazz Chorus.

doesn´t know why my fuckin´MD-Rec stopped to record after 9:49minutes !???!...batteries are still ok, MD too and i really doesn´t know why it stopped ....it´s a pity !...

is this a portable? if so it probably stopped due to the fact that shock absorbing wasn't working anymore (it only does for a few seconds). guess you have been jumping around a little too much for it. the same happend to me when i was recording autechre live in berlin. damn why must all these grooves be so tempting.

i think it comes down to making the choice between bootlegging the set or dancin to the musick. have seen friends of mine recording stuff and staying really still all night near the front of the crowd that are all dancin, always looks pretty odd to me.

damn. memory is my enemy.

...my MD-Rec was directly on jamie´s rec-out ... and it but it on jamie´s eqipment-table...because it isn´t possible for me to staying still during jamie´s liver performance ! ..i have do dance and jump around....
