I reckon it probably is. There is a panel of judges one of them is Peter Waterman the other Simon Cowel and a couple of others, they decide who out of thousands of crap wannabes go through to the public voting, some of them get completly heart broken when their dreams collapse at the critasisms (I cant spell!).
I remember poor Rik Waller or whatever his name was, the guy from last year who had the best voice but the panel decided he was too fat to be a popstar, there was a huge internet campaign telling everyone to vote for him, then oddly Poor Rik couldnt make the next program due to a throat infection.
You have to admit though the most famous of all of last years wannabes was the YMCA girl, who apparently is doing really well for herself now. She went to the audition not knowing what it was for and thinking it was for a TV presenters job, well she got a Pizza Hut advert out of it.
