i imagine there's not much going on in essen except for german steelworks. but in that area there are many other cities quite nearby (duesseldorf, cologne, dortmund etc.).

as for clubs in'n around essen, i'm the wrong guy to ask, butone of the old steel-works has been turned into some nu-skool-media-concept thing, with arty installations. i fink in bochum. try tourist info for that. should be cool. yeah and cologne ain't that far
