However, watch out for the gravedigging record companies rereleasing her records in a compilation, plus some 'never before heard' songs.

I was talking to a friend about this, and brought us to the point, how long can Tupac Shakur go on releasing new material after his death? Either someone's ripping us off, he's not dead, or he thought ahead and recorded a load of songs in case he was unable to in the future...

hm i read that there was an unreleased
soloalbum of her and tlc were working on a new album...
so there will be enough material for some money makin.
anyway waterfalls was their best single/video and a great popsong of the 90ties.

TLC had a lot of pop classics - No Scrubs, Unprretty, "Don't go chasing waterfalls, please stick to the rivers and the valleys you're used to - I know that you're going to have it your way or nothing at all, but I think you're moving too fast..."

Apparently she was going out with Suge Knight.

I reckon the carribean is going to become a less popular destination for R&B lady singers.....

knid .. are u joking that she was going out with suge knight?...
that would be TOTALLY ironic

Nah, she wasn't dating Suge Knight, she had recently signed onto his record label, and was gonna release some stuff under the name N.I.N.A (New Identity Non Applicable).

As extreme as it may sound, I cried on early Friday Morning when I heard the news - something about this all seemed a bit unreal that she was gone just like that.
TLC as a group are brillant, but it's hard to imagine them without Left Eye - to be honest, she was the face and magic of the whole deal.

Anyhow, just as my sister put it, when it's your time, its your time.

She shined a pretty bright light on the music world, and its a shame that she's gone.
When I was tellng my Mum how gutted I was when Aaliyah died and now Left-Eye, she compared it to how saddened she was when Otis passed and Sam Cooke was killed.

It's amazing just how much music and all those who make it can affect us, isn't it?

I just loved that shoulder action........
I didn't know about Layne. heroine overdose I suppose?

Sheridan
27th April 2002, 23:12
yeah well I don't think that "heroin overdose" has been officially confirmed,
but he had been using for years so it was bound to happen.
they still have to do toxicology tests on him.
it's fuckin sad.

Apparently she knocked down a killed a boy in the same car as she died in 2 weeks previous to her death.

If that isn't Karma, I don't know what is.

hm sounds like an example for "you built your own world".
she believed in karma and so she died....

Daddys Girl

Terrible as it sounds, if she hadn't have been killed, would it really have been revealed that she was involved in an accident that resulted in a childs death?... I guess it's pretty freaky the whole karma thing her P.A revealed, but all the same, Im in serious doubt that it would have even surfaced that the whole thing with the little boy happened at all....

Another thing that gets me about this - on the yahoo.com news page, there's a distubing picture of her coffin in the morgue, with a cleaner moping-up around it...yet yahoo have a report of how distressed her family are that the picture is on the net... and then, apparently there is an even more distasteful picture that someone who works in the morgue took of her when she was brought in from the hospital.... The person who runs the website that published the picture say that the picture may be graphic, but "her fans have the right to see it".....

I certainly dont wanna see something like that at all - fan or no fan... the one on yahoo news was bad enough.
All it takes is one ghoul with a camera, the power to upload and there you have it... shock-power to an extreme.

I saw the picture of her in the morgue, and the only thought that came to me was "why is she wearing pyjamas?"

It was just odd. Was she driving in pyjamas, or did someone change her into them after she died?

Also, D_G, I think you're right. She ran that kid over a week or so before she herself got killed. No one would know about it until she got summoned to court for dangerous driving, and then no press office could keep it under wraps.

Also, I find the fact that she was responsible for someone's death but wasn't phased or worried about it at all really quite worrying. How can anyone harm or kill someone else and just not be upset about it? You've got to be pretty screwed in the head not to have that affect you.

Loz.... you went and had a look? Curiosity hasn't gotten the better of me yet.... purely because Im too chicken to take it there... I once saw a faked picture of Tupac in the morgue, and it fucked me up for days....
In reference to the PJ theory - yahoo were weird enough to describe what she was in- a pink top with cartoon monkey's on it... maybe thats what you saw...
I dont understand why her PA said that she was totally calm about the little boy... we have to remember we only have her word for it....

Anywho - enough on this morbid thead! 30'000 people went to say goodbye to her - R.I.P Lisa..... lets move on

D_G :o)

those are the same pyjamas, they have cartoon monkeys on. I know they're pyjamas because not only of the style, but because one of my friend's girlfriend has a pair exactly the same.

Also, the picture isn't that great. I do have a morbid curiosity, but it's just her with her eyes closed, nothing particularly gory. Think there is a bit of blood, but nothing spectacular.

Maybe I'm desensitized to it all. I saw someone get hit by a car once, that kinda messes with your head. The guy who was driving went to prison for 18 months, 3 year sentence. Frankly the prison sentence was only a gesture, 18 months makes no difference to someone who's son has been killed, and from the look in the guy's eyes, that really was something that was going to haunt him for the rest of his life, long after he'd come out of prison.

But maybe we should be a bit more happier and think about nice things. Anyone got any ideas of nice things to think about?

hi sorry umm i'm a little late, haven't been to the board in several days. just wanted to say my piece...

I just couldn't believe it. As easy as it was to hate "Waterfalls" (especially that one day that our local radio station decided to play it 47 times in a row), TLC was just a really loveable band as a whole. It's like... you just sort of figure they're always going to be there, ya know? And now all of a sudden one of them isn't. Left Eye isn't there anymore, and that's really fucked up.

*sigh*

also, this really fucks things up for me & my cohort aimeeG's TLC cover band, Traumatic Muffin. good thing we never got passed the planning stages.
