i was an NY Mets fan years ago and followed baseball for a while - i think it had more to do with my pa workin a lot in NY and always bringing me back Mets stuff......funny, i do still own a Bball glove...

err i think he meant basketball. or did he? i still play it sometimes with some mates, we used to play nearly every day summers a few years back but nowadays it's hard to manage timewise. great game though.
i never understood baseball btw, but it isn't as half a miracle as american football is. is that boring or what?

OOps - my mistake!! haha, could go either way that one!! :)
I play basketball - playing nxt week in fact. An hour runnin around kills me tho - luckily its not that competetive, more like mates hanging out! As for following the game...? i remember big teams like the bulls/knicks but i havnt really followed any.
Have ya seen the film "Baseketball"??

bball usually means basketball. i follow college basketball some - and enjoy shooting hoops some, but i really suck - i have no depth perception (my friends know this - its why i am so clumsy and walk around like a cat with its whiskers cut off). It's my fave sport to watch though because so much stuff happens.
baseball bores me unless its live - went to a Mets game a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. some guy from work gave me front row, 3rd baseline tickets for free - it was great.

Free tickets r always great Kari!!
dont get me wrong but baseball IS boring to watch on T.V. (aint seen a live game) and basketball is action packed as far as watchin v tall men run end to end v quickly can be! (still like playin tho!)
Give me soccer anyday ;)
Or is that football ...hmmmm
I'm a basketball freak, I've been playing every week for about 7 years, I used to be good and score 20+ points a game, but I think I've gotten progressively worse over the years and only score about 10 at the most now...

i remember i had a first contact with basket ball when i was 6 or 7, however i didn't receive proper bball training till High school, then i joined a school team and i started practise, (we were the best team in our state for a five years in a row). unfortunately my knees were not so strong and i had to leave the team after four years of playing. but the bball become part of my life and i couldn't just left it. so i spend at least an hour daily on the court. i loose my speed, endurance and jump (i did 360 dunk, and now i can only do simple one handed dunk) but i gain highier accurancy, like 70-80 %.

I used to watch NBA in the 90ies when the Chicago Bulls were top. But in the nower days its´s a lack of real personalities in the NBA.

Yes i played some years absolut active basketball. but i stoped doing it because of problems with my feet and starting to work and to make music 1994 (wasn't enough time for training). Now i try to play sometimes with my girlfriend for fun not active.
Basketball is a great game, its my favorite!

@ Ischo, Yes I am a Westsiderider ;) But I love the knicks, always have. The Lakers are cool, as long as they are not playing the Knicks. Plus there is plenty of Lakers Fans.
I actually Grew up in the EastCoast (MD) So I rep the Eastside too.

Ou, basketball is my life:), playing it more that ten years already. Now only for my own pleasure, used to play in the high school, then some years in the university team. In summer I'm always a street fighter-). Also quite often play with past teammates and professionals from lkl (Lithuanian basketb. league), and guys from other european leagues who’re on post season vacations now. On Saturday played in the sport hall.. it was so hot in there, like real ficking sauna!
Love to watch bball on tv as well, starting from LKL to Euroleague, NBA and all the leagues in between. Hardly have a chance to watch nba games now, cause local tv doesn’t show it any more and also it doesn’t have some kind of agreement with dsf so can’t watch that no more either.
@will o the wisp:
>but i gain highier accurancy, like 70-80 %.
Really dude? It’s a very high percentage I think you have to be quite tall for that one and play near the basket, kinda F or C.

@daimon
i'm 1.90m tall, but i'm kind of a free shooter, and i like to play on the whole court, not only near the basket ; )

The lithuanians are very good in basketball,isnt it? Is Arvydas Sabonis still playing in Portland?
It´s good to see that tall guys can also throw three-pointers.
i was a base and basketball player some years ago but quited playing baseball after 3 month cause we didn`t have enough players in our team and basketball after 8 years cause i had not enough time. realy love playing basketball...

I like basketball, playing and watching. I mainly watch the college teams especially when the NCAA tourney starts in march. I am not as big a fan of the NBA. (LOU, I thought you were a clippers fan!:! ).
as for playing I enjoy it but I suck! I played soccer my whole life and my dad was trying to get me to play B-ball in the offseason. I played 2 seasons and only scored a total of 6 points. during one game we were behind so I kept shooting and of course I kept missing. so my coach called a time out came over to me and flat out told me: "you are killing our team. if you get the ball just pass it".
anywhoo, I am much better at soccer and decided to stick with that instead.
äh bball is not only scoring. i made about 0,33 ponts / game but i always played the whole time cause i was the defence bastard ;)

@Will O The Wisp
then you are real sniper-) and yeah it's much more enjoyable to play on the whole field than on a few particular positions, thus you can improvise. like in jazzz>).
@tomoki
well, we're not bad for such a small country. Sabonis is already a veteran I think 38 years old, but he's still very useful for any team. Though as I know he tend to finish his carrier in nba and play last season in the native team "Zalgiris".

Germans are not bad either, at least its national team:) for Dirk Nowitzki alone.
I like Patrick Femerling also, he's a good player.
